He got a 2 year extension. And he was already under contract for 14-15. This is an embarrassment. It's not even a 'this is your last chance' situation. He got rewarded for last year. I hope they start 0-20. I hope Reimer establishes himself as a number 1 somewhere else. I hope they blame it on Kadri and Gardiner, trade them for pennies on the dollar, and give them a chance to flourish elsewhere. I hope they come dead last, lose the draft lottery, and take a bust at number 2. I want this team burned to the ground. Poor Phil Kessel.

From my understanding his contract is 16-17, which is only 2 years. Not 2 years on top of the 1 he already had. I could be wrong.

Extensions never mean certainly sticking around for the duration. Carlyle's going to get a little retool of the roster (which they need regardless of whether the coach got fired) and if it flops he'll probably be gone by New Years. One of the new assistants should probably be someone they could promote down the line to head coach, but who knows.
