I'm not going to get all crazy with it, but it's really great to see the run the Kings have been on the last few years, especially given their history of being a middle of the pack team, historically. It's also cool that LA is the one 'Sun Belt' city where hockey has really worked out.

It is funny to see people that never, ever, talk about hockey going 'Go Kings Go' once the Cup Finals started, though.

Ron Wilson apparently in the running to be the Pens coach.

Marc Crawford is another name interviewing for the position. Feel bad for whoever gets the job if the Pens don't start off the season as good as they usually did under Bylsma.

They can only buyout players who were signed before the lockout right? Like, Pittsburgh wouldn't be able to get rid of Scuderi?

Also, been seeing quite a few names popping around as possible coaches for the Pens. Other than the two that were mentioned, John Hynes, Ulf Samuelsson, John Stevens, Bill Peters and Rick Tocchet are all names that they are considering. Tocchet, though, is being looked at as a assistant coach. My best guess is that they end up with either Hynes or Samuelsson.

incorrect. they can buy out Scuderi but not with a compliance buyout. It would be a regular buyout that counts against their salary cap.

Brian Boyle is going to test he market. Apparently, he was told he would be brought back as a 4th line, PK specialist - playing on average 13 minutes a night. He wants a bigger role.

Someone will give it to him. Whether he's actually cut out to play in such a role consistently is more up in the air.

Spezza's no-trade list allegedly includes every other Canadian team (oof!) plus the Islanders, Predators, Jackets and Panthers.

I can understand Canadian teams....he can't handle the pressure in our markets.

But the Preds? I don't get that. Low pressure market, and he'd only be the #2 or #3 most important guy (behind Weber and possibly Rinne), and I would say they are trending upwards.

Well remember, Weber signed an offer sheet meaning he was either in Philly or Nashville last year, but beyond last year, Nashville can now waive or trade him like any other player.if they never wanted to have him on that type of contract, it is entirely possible they try and get something before having to hand over another massive wad of cash.

Plus just because Nashville signed an offer sheet match doesn't mean all is now rosy with Weber. as an rfa he has no choice but to accept that deal but playing out the entire term is another matter.

I think it would have to be a scenario where Poile doesn't work for Nashville anymore because he's been emphatic about keeping Weber and building everything around him. It's difficult to imagine what kind of trade would have to be put together to change the Predators' minds - four 1st round picks wasn't enough to do it.
