Picked up Until Dawn yesterday and it's pretty rad. Being unable to control the camera as you're walking makes things pretty freaky, and the game is delightfully cheesy overall. Butterfly Effect feature is cool as well, as things you do (like deciding not to harm an animal for example) could either help you or hinder you later on.

What's the style of the game? Is it like Heavy Rain where you make decisions and follow an interactive movie, so to speak, or more like an Alan Wake where it's still story driven but you feel like you're playing it.

Mix of both, but veering more towards Alan Wake. There are similarities with HR, but I feel more like I'm actually playing it rather than just watching. Searching for collectibles and just surveying the environment helps in that regard. Also there are not as many QTEs as I think many people expected.

I'd probably pick up Beyond as I didn't play it, not arsed about playing Heavy Rain again but definitely worth it for a first timer. Highly recommended.

One criticism I read about Beyond back when it got released was that it seemed the decisions you made during the game didn't really affect things much like they could have in Heavy Rain. Is that fair?
