I never really understand why people collect games at midnight. Why don't you just wait until the morning?

Because you're exited for the game and it's not like there's anything better to do at midnight?

Sleep, maybe?

If you're an old person, sure.

It's 2014, we're seriously going to have a discussion about people going to midnight releases? People get excited to buy something and go to get it as soon as they can. Not only is it not weird, it's pretty much commonplace at this point.

I'd usually have been asleep for two hours or so by midnight >_>

Sorry, I'm not young and hip enough to be awake at midnight. Perhaps it's because I have a job.

I have a Monday to Friday, 9-5 job. So does Ruki. So do nearly all of the people that go to midnight releases, because people with jobs are the ones with enough money to buy games on launch and actually get to the shop and back at midnight.

It's really not remotely uncommon, nor is there actually anything odd about it. It's almost a social event at this point, people do it with their friends. Kind of like how people go out with their friends and stay awake past midnight all the time in any other circumstance. >_>

Wow, you're kind of an asshole, aren't you?

Like TKz said, I have a job. I've worked 8:30-5, Monday to Friday for the past 6 years (and before that, I was in college full time).

It's after 1pm, you should probably go lay down for your nap, you grumpy old shit :)

Most GOOD midnight launches have some cool swag and events. I would never camp out for one, but if I had some friends I would likely roll into one at midnight, grab some of the free stuff and then head home and maybe play a bit. I haven't in a while but the option is there.

It'd be better if I was across the pond where most games release on Fridays - that way I'd just be able to get up and play instead.

I went to collect Gears of War 3 at midnight and it was exactly that, just collecting it. No events, no free stuff, blah. If I had any thoughts I'd be able to stay up late and play FIFA I'd go do the same tonight but I've been up since 5am already, and won't actually be able to get online <_<
