Coutinho man of the match. Brilliant performance. Thought first half we were good just lacking end product. Second half Swansea started to come into the game a bit more. Thought we deserved the won. Lambert, Borini and Coutinho played well.

Was always going to be a red cause he lunged off the floor. Steve the pirate just needs to stop thinking the refs have a personal vendetta against him

Manchester City have named a strong team for tonight's League Cup tie. David Silva, Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic all play. Samir Nasri makes his return from injury on the bench. Newcastle's injury-hit midfielder Ryan Taylor makes his first appearance since August 2012 as Alan Pardew names an inexperienced side.
Man City XI: Caballero, Sagna, Demichelis, Mangala, Kolarov, Milner, Toure, Fernandinho, Silva, Jovetic, Dzeko.
Newcastle XI: Elliot, Janmaat, Coloccini, Dummett, Haidara, R.Taylor, Abeid, Colback, Obertan, Armstrong, Aarons.
Tottenham have made 10 changes to the team which lost at Newcastle last weekend. Only Jan Vertonghen retains his place. Harry Kane leads the line up front.
