You can have La Parka with an actual Buffalo as his manager too!

Spike are definitely taking some heat for this on the Steam Forums.  In January when they said they would be focusing most of their efforts on the PS4 version, everyone on the PC was supportive because the goal was for the game to succeed and the PS4 platform would make them to the most money.  But now they've delayed PC content a week before release in order to again accommodate PS4, people have gotten miffed.

On top of all this, Carlzilla has now said that with the DLC dropping next week he should've been able to update the mod suite fairly quickly since he'd only be a couple of weeks into classes.  But he expects his workload to ramp up very quickly and so with this delay, expect it to be several months before he can fix the suite.

In other words, if you play PC you need to decide between the mod suite or the new content.  If you want to keep using mods, you'd better stock up on edits now because once the content drops you'll have to play in offline mode for the foreseeable future.

As it turns out, Version 2.00 removed accessibility to nearly all of the coding that was available, syncing it with the PS4 version to allow for easier updates in the future.  This in turn has effectively killed modding capability on new versions of the PC game without re-modding everything from scratch.

As such, Carlzilla has thrown in the towel and announced he will not be updating the mod suite at all and most of the other modders have also announced they're sticking with the 1.02 version of the game.  The only way to play with mods is to continue playing 1.02 in offline mode.  You cannot download the NJPW DLC, the DLC stories, the promoter mode when it comes out, or anything else.  If you want that stuff, you have to forego mods and play the standard game.  The hope was eventually the suite could be updated and you could have both - but you can't.  Modding support for new versions is finished.

This game's community has effectively been cut in half, which really isn't a good look for Spike.

So, I'm noticing the last time anyone said anything about mods in this thread was back in October. Since then there have been great strides in bringing The Mods to Fire Pro 2.0. The overwhelming majority of mods have been ported over, with even a few new mods being made(like in-ring interviews and Yarakuen Hall entrances). They can be downloaded at http://firepropc.com/

You essentially run a company, hire wrestlers, book matches, etc. trying to get more revenue than the competition.  It sounds kinda similar to the GM Mode from the SmackDown vs. Raw games.

I think you'll be able to set promoter mode from a starting point too.  Like you could have NJPW, WWE, AEW etc. and then put a bunch of indy workers into the free agent pool and the rivaling promotions will actually sign talent from each other.

I haven't seen too many details but I'm keen to try it out.  If it sucks, it's not really a big deal since the simming in this game is so good you could easily create your own game universe in just the exhibition modes.  I'm partial to running tag tournaments and letting the game completely randomize the teams Lethal Lottery style.
