The audience was jarring after so long without them. I don't know if I prefer it without one now; thought I'd never think that.

The special itself was entertaining. But unlike last year's Treat, I don't think we're missing out on any of the contestants not doing a full series.

I've really warmed to him in recent months, and his appearance here and on the accompanying podcast was fantastic. From a scoring standpoint, I think he's also the first person to score maximum points in every filmed task in the same episode.

Ask a silly question, but are the repeats at 6pm on Dave child friendly, I.e. nee swearing? I imagine they are, but didn't know whether it had some kind of Sky Movies style exemption.

hmm quite expensive for a one show thing, but i can see it being worth it for a month and bingeing.

Yeah, once they’ve added a lot more we may do it. I’m especially interested to see if new episodes go up there same day(ish) of their original airing on Channel 4. I imagine there’s at least an outside chance of that, given that this service is only for North America (right?) That alone would be THE reason to get it, for us, as there’s no Official way to keep up with the show in real time from the States right now.

Or wait, maybe it’s everywhere? Fuck.

i think it's worldwide, which makes me wonder how Alex Horne held onto the rights to every remake and is able to put them up online, even as they're being broadcast on commercial channels in their respective markets.

There's been a disturbing lacking of discussion about season 13, which in my mind has been fantastic every episode.

Ardal's nit-picking and tearing down of everyone else despite his own usually awful effort, Bridget's absolute insanity whilst dressed as a cowboy undertaker, Chris's game-inventing skills, hyperactivity and utter competence, Judi's legendary bullshitting ability and being far funnier than I ever gave her credit for, and Sophie's bizarre mixture of intelligence and craziness, perfectly exemplified in a Shakespeare performance mixed with an escapology act in a bathtub.

Yeah, it’s been a VERY good season so far, with a few all-time classic moments.

Bridget barely managing to bang a pot while on the ground is iconic. Chris is real discovery for me. I especially loved his sausage game and “No way!” Listen to his episode of the podcast for a wonderful tidbit about his history with the show. Judy can spin golden bullshit out of anything, even if it gets her no points. Ardal is just a wonderfully cheeky twist on the usual elder statesman slot. Watching him and Chris play like little boys together is a joy. Sophie was my hope to win going into the season and basically still is. I’ll be quite happy with Chris too. Or anyone, really.

Also, those composited tasks (the high fives and the meeting) we’re phenomenal.

Yeah this is a fantastic set of contestants, really think the live crowd has helped massively too. Unashamedly Sophie Duker makes me feel like I belong in horny jail. Even when she's eating 100g of butter.
