I love my iPad, I brought it with me to school, but I'd stick to a laptop for using it in class. It's easier to manage multiple programs, and you have the benefit of a physical keyboard versus the touch. However, the iPad can give you the option of ebooks for your textbooks, as well as nifty apps right for various classes. So...it's a coin flip at best.

If you pair it with a keyboard it would be worth taking. Without it it would be pretty frustrating for note taking.
