Well another hour on the phone, two customer representatives with no clue, a supervisor with no clue and their supervisor with no clue later... We're going to get a call in 15-20 business days after they've "investigated the problem for you"... They apparently have no fucking clue why. Lovely.

We got a 360 back yesterday, albeit manufactured in Aug. 2006, while ours was manufactured in April this year. Anyways my girlfriend signed into her profile to play some Pacman quick before we had to go to bed and was confused why he could only play the "trial" or have the option to purchase. Same with the rest of our Live Arcade games. My profile however can play them normally. We called up Microsoft last night and talked to a guy who had no idea why that was and then put us on hold so we could talk with a supervisor. An hour later of shitty techno we just hung up and went to bed. Shall try again today I suppose. Anyone have a clue why that is? Doesn't make sense to me. Unless of course with this update you can only play stuff on the profile that downloaded them which is fucking retarded.

Um, going by the witness testimony (based on what he said to this witness) she tried getting away or at least ran at the guy and he kicked her down. She also was a little 7 year old girl with her 16 year old sister and her 17 year old boyfriend doing it to her. Not much of a chance even if she did. Regardless, was that really even necessary? I know people like cracking jokes and shit, sometimes it's completely unnecessary and tasteless.

Seems the girl is the one admitting to doing everything while stating she was the one to state they were imitating Mortal Kombat (just seems the media has jumped over that little tidbit). The guy apparently didn't do dick aside from watch and referee. However, whoever this witness is, is the one who has said he did everything. Whatever faith you can place in that I don't know. That and a neighbour says the little girl admitted that the guy's hit her before, so he likely did it. Girlfriend's probably trying to cover for him. They were both in on it regardless. Still... The poor little girl. Even if only one did it and the other did nothing, or both did it, she was beaten to death... I can't even imagine. And the extent of the damage... Fucking horrible. And it is very much an example of poor parenting. The mother has left her kids in the care of neighbours for days. And to not know where bruises come from on your little girl? Horrible.

Saves can start getting bloated. Heck, so can Gamer profiles (mine was at 3 and my girlfriend's at 2). I personally see the memory unit as a waste, with the hard drive being a better value. Then again if you only plan on every playing a handful of games, ever, than I suppose just the memory unit would suffice. And if the itch to download anything off Live showed up, you wouldn't be able to. Even some of the smaller arcade games are around the 40Mb mark.

Nothing in that really states if he was paid though. I highly doubt he'll get the money for it that high. Unless of course the person buying it has exceptionally deep pockets to waste cash on a whim. Then again, nowadays ya never know.

VilgeDuin I only have Warhawk for anything online. Although will probably pick up multi-platform titles in the future for the PS3 since I don't want to risk having our 360 break again and be screwed out of playing anything for a month at a time.

I know it won't happen, but I wish more companies would include off-line co-op. I'd much rather play through Saints Row with my girlfriend sitting next to me than online. More convenient too. Crackdown would have been great if we could play together but nope... Oh well. Saints Row 2 should be good regardless.

A lot of times it's really hard, to be honest. One of the reasons I liked the first SAW so much was that the two in the room and the guy who played Jigsaw I'd never seen before. So it seemed more realistic. Glad it's idiotic to you.

I started rewatching the episodes with my girlfriend after we picked up the first two DVD sets. The show was great as a kid, and surprisingly I actually like it even more now. Especially considering I understand just how serious it was for when it came out and understand some of the finer plot points better. It sucks completely that Disney has no desire at all to release the second half of the second season. Bah.

Don't know if anyone saw it with I Am Legend, but here's The Dark Knight trailer. Despite the horribleness of the camera taking it... Fuck damn that looks tremendous. I absolutely need to see this movie.

I sent my Xbox off yesterday in it's little casket. Kind of made me sad. Hopefully I'll get something back soon.

After watching the first five minutes, I very well may wind up going to the theatre on Christmas. That looked great. Heck... Spoiler: Click here to view...a kid getting a facehugger already tells me they likely won't pull their punches. The Predalian looks fucking great, albeit I'm confused as to if that is specifically the ship from the previous movie as it seems that way. Although that ship is quite small and the one at the end of AVP was fucking monstrous. Liked the little peek at what a Predator world may look like. And I'm already rooting for him to kick the shit out of some aliens. I'm curious, if these movies continue and such, if they'll dovetail into the original Alien.

Yahtzee Croshaw Reviews Guitar Hero III Don't know if anyone's been checking out the Zero Punctuation reviews (I think they're brilliant), but I think that's a spot on take about Guitar Hero III. Seems a lot of people are turning off the game now that Rock Band's out and the difficulty is just mind numbing.

Between the two... I would have to honestly say Playstation 3. Before getting all three I flip flopped about wondering what we should get, and after getting all three I had plenty of uncertainty about which was the best investment. Although truthfully, with our 360 just breaking after almost 4 months I'm a bit biased against it. I personally find that of the 360 games we have and that I have played just about every one of them I have truly enjoyed was also on the PS3 as well (Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, Stuntman, Guitar Hero, etc.). And when it comes to exclusives the PS3 is ever so slowly, but surely, catching up in number and quality. Next year should especially make this apparent. From a console hardware standpoint, the PS3 is better in countless ways. Albeit I love the 360's controllers. If the Blu-Ray capability doesn't phase you nor any of the other multimedia applications, then it comes down strictly to the games. Taking out multi-platform... It's a matter of, do you prefer the idea of Halo, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Dead Rising, Gears of War, Dead or Alive, etc. over Ratchet, Warhawk, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, Resistance, Eye of Judgement, etc? If so, 360, if not, PS3. The Xbox Live Arcade trumps what the PS3 has available in downloadable games regard. The Wii's Virtual Console wins soundly though... The PS3 is a better overall system from an operating/construction standpoint, with exclusive games that I find to be personally just as fun if not moreso. The download service stuff goes to the 360 with them being middle ground with online (Xbox Live costs money but runs better, although the PSN is starting to function better). But the PS3 wins out, at least for me, when it comes to future games. I personally see the PS3 as a better investment, but you probably wouldn't go wrong either way. The red ring of death will get you though eventually... yay going a month without your console... As far as backwards compatability... I think only the 40 Gb lacks it, and otherwise it's done through software emulation. I have no idea if it's any good or not. Hamster will probably be able to answer on that better when he inevitably posts.

But you have to remember, Samus shoots stuff. Only males do that. Women are supposed to carry around vagina creating energy guns and solve their problems with brains, something males do not know how to do. Besides, she has a big friggin gun for an arm. What more of an obviously phallic reference must one need? She is the ultimate personification of the male driven desire for woman to touch them. That and she's demeaned and objectified by her stripping the quicker you finish the game. The faster you finish the more flesh you see! How sexist.

Just goes to show you, people can see whatever they want in something regardless of how much sense it makes. Seems more like the guy just went for every stereotypical feminist cliche he had available and piled it on. There's so many easy things to target with that... But on a different, more generic point, I'll never understand why people make direct allusions to the "fact" that every game is designed around the concept of male gratification and ego boosting. Yes, most first person shooters are centred around a male character, although most FPS protagonists are almost nonexistance personality wise (and in the case of stuff like Half-Life wouldn't actually matter with some slight dialogue changes). Yes, women in games are "beauty" personified and model ideals. As are almost every male character. Most are buffed super soliders or expert military badasses, of which... they aren't exactly that common either. Call me next time you see guys looking like Kratos or Master Chief walking down the street. And gee, shooting in shooters? Done by males? Considering the plethora of WWII games out there nowadays, no shit that most FPS protagonists are men... Never would have thought.

I saw FFVII at an EB for $10 not too long ago. Albeit I once went into one of those small older game stores a couple of years ago and they had Xenogears for $200. Never did understand where they think they can sell things for that much.
