I wonder if they play Ings alongside Watkins or do they move Watkins to be more of a 10?

It’s a curious move as they could probably have moved Watkins for a lot of money this season too.

Watkins played 37/38 games last season (only missed the 38th due to a questionable red card), since returning from injury Wesley hasn’t shown enough, and Keinan Davis is injured again, so we always were in the market for another striker. Just don’t think anyone expected this move. Watkins can play out left as well mind, so will be interesting to see how we line up in a couple of weeks time.

Ings up top, Watkins on the left, Bailey on the right, and Buendia as a 10 sounds like a very good attacking four.

This is a touch of class from Purslow - calmly and clearly explaining the situation and what the club did to address it. Villa seem really well run.

Well he is the Fernando Torres of finance after all

I was thinking the same thing. It's not quite Keegan on the steps telling us how good Keith Gillespie is, but considering Villa's great business so far he probably didn't even need to do it.
