The central midfield part of the squad Chelsea have taken to Russia is just tragic.

Even this list is a lie because Mount always plays in the front three and even Barkley, in his rare appearances this season, has typically been thrown on as a false 9 for the last few minutes as a "fuck it, just run about a bit, who cares" sub.

Of course, the only thing to play for is 1st/2nd in the group, and you just know finishing 1st would get us PSG in the next round anyway, so it seems like more of a "try not to embarrass/injure yourselves" game.

Them and Dortmund both headed to the Europa knockouts. I think the latter of those might manage to win the tournament but Barca seriously might not even make it to the last 4.

One of the group winners was always getting PSG, tough for Man Utd. Chelsea lucked out after their 2nd place finish to avoid the doom draw with Bayern Munich.

It also appears there's some controversy as Man Utd were originally drawn to face Villarreal (who they couldn't face) and weren't put back in the right pot after. Basically comes down to whether Man Utd get Atletico or PSG as far as I can tell. They might do a redraw but unlikely.

Aaaaaaand it's being redrawn later today.

Was so confused why the host guy said initially that Man Utd couldn’t face Atleti. It was like the easiest thing to keep track of and it’s stupid AF that the guys in charge didn’t notice the discrepancy of the software they were using.
