It just goes to show the depth of English striking talent when you get all those injuries and still have someone awesome to call up as a replacement. Scotland's strikers are so inexperienced (9 caps between 4 of them and Kenny Miller with 41) and if any of them drop out I dread to think who we'd have to call in.

Isn't Derbyshire doing alright for Olympiakos?

3 goals in 5 games says wiki, I know he scored an important cup goal a few weeks back. I really like Derbyshire, yes I am going to be horribly biased due to his club and where he is from but he is a good goal poacher which, Owen aside, England lack. Then again, you could argue having more well-rounded players is more important. If Derbyshire nailed down a regular place at Rovers or elsewhere he could be a decent outside bet for the WC squad.

EDIT - As a youth player, he joined us and turned down Man Utd. So he is halfway to being as good as Jansen, who turned Man Utd down twice. That worked out for him. >_>
