So, uh. Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. will be taking place on pay-per-view September 12 in California. And on the undercard will be former NBA star Nate Robinson vs. Youtuber Jake Paul. This could be a train wreck, but I'm morbidly curious.

Beyond the initial intrigue, I can see a fight between two fifty-somethings who were past their prime years ago being utterly rubbish. Tyson's peak was probably at least thirty years ago, and Jones' was nearly twenty. They were both embarrassing shells of their former selves in their late thirties, let alone now.

I imagine they'll contrive a couple of rounds which make Paul look as though he's competitive before Mayweather stops him. That way, Mayweather keeps his perfect record and enjoys an easy payday, while Paul can portray himself as the lionhearted underdog who went toe-to-toe with one of the all-time greats.

The WBC has decided to introduce a weight class between cruiserweight and heavyweight. They're calling it "bridgerweight", which is silly. It's being suggested that Deontay Wilder and Oleksandr Usyk could try out the new division, with Wilder looking less and less likely to get a rematch with Tyson Fury and Usyk wanting to build his way up to a world title fight in the heavyweight division.

A lot of people might be more interested in the Tyson/Jones Jr. fight, but there's also a potentially great match between Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce tonight. Both are undefeated British heavyweight prospects, Joyce winning a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics, and it's quite surprising that they're fighting each other at this stage of their careers. The winner could well be right in the world title picture.

It's on BT Sport, but it isn't a Pay-Per-View.
