The first 4-songs on the new Pains Of Being Pure Of Heart are ridiculously good. Slips a bit after that, but like the first, still a good little album.

Got new Explosions In The Sky, Strokes, Spokes, Human League, Boris, Yelle, The Vaccines (may as well) and Rise Against to listen to.

And the new Dredg album is called "Chuckles and Mr Squeezy". I think that must win the award for the shittest album name of 2011. I think it's even worse than that ridiculously long Mew album title from a couple years back.

Hey, Rise Against, "Architects" was a million times better 20-years ago when Bad Religion called it "Generator", and those exact same lyrics were slightly better when Against Me! sang them on "I Was A Teenage Anarchist" last year. :shifty:

Ben Weasel proving he's a total dick by swinging hard at a girl. After she spit ice on him. After he told her "I’ll tell you what, I haven’t whipped my dick out in about 20 years. But I’m on the verge of doing it just so just so the fucking skanky mess can come up and suck on it. So she could delicately lick my taint."

(only the first thing actually happens in that video, the rest is just added for context)

I used to love/still like Screeching Weasel, it's 'harmless' pop-punk, but Ben Weasel's always been a bit of an immature, incredibly pissy prick. Case in point, I haven't listened to the new album yet, but apparently it's being slated/laughed at for rather juvenile anti-Fest and anti Brendan Kelly songs.

Yeah, I'm loving The Vaccines album. It took me a while to buy into the hype, but they're now one of the main bands I'm really looking forward to seeing at Latitude. Also saw The Good Natured when they supported Wombats and I'm in love with them; their songs are proper catchy and the lead singer has a great voice. Plus, she's hot. :shifty:

Seconded on The Good Natured, not so much on The Vaccines. On first listens I prefer the debuts from both Chapel Club and The Chapman Family. It's solid, but unspectacular, which has been my feeling on them all along.

Totally on board with The Good Natured though. Awesome band. Though I don't think the singer's all that hot, but she might have an Alice Glass thing going on and is ridiculously hot 'in person'.

When we saw her, her hair completley covered her face. She was just wearing a shirt, with this bow tie thing and really short shorts. It might've been because you couldn't see her face, but live she was just so hot. She more borders on cute when you see her face. But man, her legs go on forever. Go see them live just for her. Oh, and 'Be My Animal' is one of the catchiest songs ever.

Do you know when their album comes out?

Team Me also supported Wombats and were pretty good. The girl in that band is fucking mental, but in a hilarious and awesome way. She was just in a world of her own.

Apparently the tail-end of the year (just going by an interview linked on their last.fm page)

Also;

Favourite-est song of the year so far. 4th favourite-est album of the year so far.

Team Me are class too. "Weathervanes & Chemicals" is a tune (think it was on one of my playlists, and if it wasn't, it was meant to be). Man, really should have looked into that tour. :shifty:

Man, just realised Missent To Denmark put their album out last year (I get them and Team Me confused in my head). Gotta check it out.

The new Deer Tracks EP ("The Archer Trilogy Pt.1") is gorgeous

"Ram Ram" is awesome. And there's a nice little video for it. Still feel weird about liking a band with a cross-dresser in them. :shifty: Love the girl though.

"Mio" is awesome too, but "Books Of Blood" is my current favourite.

Not as good as their album "Aurora", but a step up from the still very good "Eggegrund" EO from last year.

Death Cab ditched their trademark folk-rock strums for analog synths and a string section. “It feels very Seventies electronic,” says Walla, who cribbed “drone noises and non-traditionally musical junk” from Brian Eno (one of his teenage heroes) and LCD Soundsystem. “We wanted to explore how bands were using machines in the pre-computer era.”

This could be good or downright awful. All the bad bits of the recent Get Up Kids album are flooding to me. :( When there was the hype of 'less guitar' I was hoping more piano stuff etc, never thought of the electronic route. :/
