Try pressing select and setting it to a full day, she might be there when it finishes up.

This. And if that doesn't work, check back at your house in the town where you got her as your Housecarl.

Fast travelling always brings them back for me. Sometimes it can take two or three trips though. Generally I will fast travel to Whiterun and by the time I've finished selling crap they are by my side again.

I'm sure she'll turn back up, I did a bunch of fast travel and there was no sign of her. But I picked up Aela (my wife, who doesn't love me because we never have any marriage-based dialogue) to do something for the Companions. I checked my house and didn't see her, but I'm sure one day she'll be by my side again.

Such a funny glitch.

My spatial awareness appears to have deteriorated significantly since I decide to create a two handed specialist. Both Lydia and the Undying bird dead by my increasingly erratic swings/shouts and I've not even visited the Greybeards yet :(

Think I'm at my best observing battle from a safer distance.

Yeah going around with a two-handed is hard for a lot of reasons. I had to make sure Lydia only had a bow when I was doing it, because the time from pressing the button and the attack going off is just long enough where something can go horribly wrong. Especially with a badass warhammer.

Dumb question that I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to, but can you install Skyrim to two seperate PCs using the same game disc? I assume it's going to want a product registration code or something.

Ah, that's not too bad. One of my friends bought it the other day and he's obsessed with Civ V right now, so he's loaned me Skyrim since I mentioned something to him the other night about how I wanted to play it.

Since Skyrim updated my save game went down over a meg in size. Intriguing.

If memory serves, they've implemented a new compression system for the save files. Nothing huge, but helpful for those with giganto save files.

For the record, some of the new kill animations for casters are fantastic. Though I have read about one where you see it from the victim's point of view, I have yet to see it.

My PS3 save is now over 11MB. The update sort of fixed the frame rate issue. Instead of dropping to a solid 5FPS in Whiterun now the game will sometimes just freeze for 3-4 seconds then there will be a few judders or like 1FPS this lasts for 2-3 seconds and then runs smoothly. Not ideal, but better than having to put up with a constant unplayable frame rate.

I finally went to the Greybeards. Also I think I have sort of ruined the game for myself. I have perked up archery and my enchanting and smithing is also maxed. Now my bow is one hit kills against nearly everything even when I'm detected. My one handed isn't far off, but I can come close to dying against one opponent with one handed weapons yet can clear an entire room with a bow before taking one hit.

I think on my next play through I will max out magic and one handed and be a woman. The bow is great, it's just way too powerful. I guess it's what I get for playing the game totally out of sequence. I would get rid of my helper but I find them useful as I just load them up bwith all the loot I collect. Especially with dragon bones and scales being so heavy.

The game is really better when you make a different character for each aspect of the game. One for Companions, one for Mages Guild, one for Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood (they fit together so well in terms of gameplay), and then decide who you want to do Civil War and main quest with. It doesn't hurt to do main quest with all of them because of Unrelenting Force making the game so much more fun.
