Jenrry Mejia looked great today, clearly the best choice for the #5 starter spot. Sorry Dice-K, but the absolute best thing that could happen for the Mets is if you get rocked in your next time out to eliminate any doubt.

They can't even use Dice-K's veteran opt out clause as an excuse, since it doesn't take effect until May 30th. He has to report to AAA if the Mets want him to. Can always call him up later if Mejia slumps.

Mets Opening Day lineup:

1. 2B Eric Young Jr

2. CF Juan Lagares

3. 3B David Wright

4. RF Curtis Granderson

5. LF Andrew Brown

6. 1B Ike Davis

7. C Travis d'Arnaud

8. SS Ruben Tejada

9, P Dillon Gee

...god damn that is an awful Opening Day lineup. At least Daniel Murphy should be back for Game 2, his wife is in labor. Sucks that Chris Young suddenly got sidelined with a quad strain, he had a great spring.

And the Mets are the most popular team nowhere, not even in Queens. No surprises there.
