Benjamin
Wouldn't it have to be a country from the same continent? Didn't they want to rotate between the continents hosting the world cup? So theoretically, the 2018 would have to be in Europe. 2022 could be in Australia, then, because it's a part of Asia or something.
Colly
No, it just would have to not be South America after 2014.
Baddar
The Australian time difference would suuuuck. But they have to deal with it every time it isn't in Australia, so they deserve it at least once. If it was in the US or Australia, I'd definitely book time off work for it. While I'm aware that World Cup hosts always vary sensible kick off times to benefit European tv surely they must get reasonable time differences sometimes? Japan/South Korea? That's not an argument against Australia by the way, happy for them to get it.
Baddar
Oh I know that, but a lot of the time, it suits European audiences. A 4pm kick off there would be something like a 5am start here. That would suck but like I say, I'd book time off.
9 to 5
Why only book time off if it is in a foreign English speaking land? >_>
gunnar hendershow
All EWBers would be able to find free lodging if a World Cup were held in Australia or the United States.
Baddar
Why only book time off if it is in a foreign English speaking land? >_> Because I would be able to watch anything after about 1pm onwards, so wouldn't need to get time off. In 2018, I should be fine as there isn't much by way of time difference, IF Russia keep it.
stokeriño
FIFA's film about itself, which cost between $25m and $30m to make, has taken a grand total of $607 dollars in its opening weekend in the US. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-33050289
GhostMachine
Its available on On Demand in the U.S., apparently. Wouldn't watch it even if I was paid to do so. Qatar should definitely be stripped of the 2022. Do not like the methods they're employing to build the stadium.
Colly
I just can't grasp what Roth and Doopidoo were thinking, apart from how much tax free cash Warner could slip them. Even if FIFA was clean it would be a boring film about administration. Maybe if they played Blatter as a David Brent style character. Admin Lineker Posted June 9, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted June 9, 2015 Russia and Qatar may have had to pay bribes to secure their World Cups, Sepp Blatter's former special advisor has suggested. Guido Tognoni worked "extremely closely" with the Fifa president during Blatter's second term.

gunnar hendershow
I mean are they just gonna go "oops our bad", strip them of the World Cups, and award them to other nations that have probably bribed them in the past?
Admin Lineker Posted June 10, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 The process to award the 2026 World Cup has been postponed.

TCO
The process to award the 2026 World Cup has been postponed. That's probably because Blatter had intended it go to Syria before he walked.
