So I bought GZ yesterday to play, how long will it take to complete? I think someone said about 6 hours for main story, that about right?

I've known people that, starting from scratch, finished GZ in about 20 minutes for the main story

 

Started TPP over, since fuck mission 45...iots much easier now that I know what to expect and some tips for finishing missions faster

Can you tell us what's so fucked about mission 45 without spoiling the story?

Play in offline mode. There's pretty much no loading times for me once you go offline.

Where do you select that? Seriously, even the fucking iDroid menu is driving me insane.

The other button than the one that gets you into the iDroid - the 'pause' menu as it were.

There is no pause menu as far as I can see, that's why I asked. Pressung options and pressing the touchpad both take me into the iDroid.

Press the left-hand side of the touchpad.

Yeah, it's area sensitive. One half takes you to the iDroid and the other takes you to the options with instructions, hints and a couple of other bits including on/offline mode.

I actually had the opposite problem and kept on pressing the menu and getting frustrated I couldn't open the iDroid while Ocelot shouted at me for not following the tutorial commands so understand how annoying it is.

What do I have to upgrade to get the silenced tranq sniper?

And I customized my tanq sniper rifle to have a silencer...first mission? Got an S.

As much as I hate to say it - after making it to Africa are a lot of people finding the game really friggin' repetitive? I haven't touched it in a couple of days and I just want to finish the story now at this point.

The Where Do Bees Sleep mission is driving me up the wall. I've had no problems doing anything except trying to find the exit once I enter that temple built into the mountain. I cannot find the exit/location of the Honeybee anywhere no matter how many times I go around the caves.
