Tom Brady retires; unretires; retires again

I never thought we'd see the day. Maybe some of his records get broken but I can't envision anyone ever being as great for as long as he was again.

Going to be fascinating to see what they try and do at QB. They drafted Trask in the 2nd last year but I can't imagine he's just given the job.

It shouldn’t feel weird that a soon to be 45 year old QB has retired, but it kinda does.  Given how he was still playing at an elite level and his contract and the Bucs cap situation was set up for him to have one more season in this window.  Then a week ago all the Brady retirement rumors pop up and the word that he’d take a month to decide his next steps, instead he decided in less than a week.

Apparently in November he mentioned in an interview that he “owes it to his family to retire” but everyone just kinda dismissed it because he’s said for so long that he’d play until he sucks.  Thinking about it now, his mind might’ve already been made up by then.

I halfway expect that at NFL Honors next week, Brady will not only win MVP but they’ll announce that they’ve waived the waiting period and put him directly into the Hall of Fame.

Well this all seems a bit muddied now, but if he is retiring, he's obviously the best ever. I was very much anti-Patriors, antI-Belichick and anti-Brady, and I'm still two of those, but what he did at the Bucs is the absolute proof of his legendary status.

And in true Big Ben fashion, even his retirement gets overshadowed by Brady .
