I'm assuming that you meant to write "super serious".

It wasn't exactly a super uplifting game. It takes place in a world that has been ravished by a zombie outbreak. Society broke down. A lot of fucked-up stuff does happen. But the game does have it's moments of lightheartedness. It wasn't all misery porn.

Reading this article makes it seem like they looked at the darkest moments of TloU and decided to make the entire sequel like that. Which is concerning. TloU was more than just the violence.

Yeah the supercereal was meant as serious.

Got my answer, considering that all I know is it's not my type of game.

I actually didn't really like The Last Of Us. I found the parts with the clickers to be incredibly frustrating.

On the other hand, the clickers had the most fleshed out personality of the entire cast.

That might be the single most eye-roll inducing statement I've ever read on this board. Now please, tell us who exactly wasn't fleshed out in the Last of Us?

I was being facetious, but really, I didn't find any of them that interesting.

These two blokes at the docks. We never got to find out their hopes and regrets.

EDIT- You know what, can we just drop this? I don't want to go over why I didn't like TLOU again. I just hated it, alright? I was just making a snark and if I knew I'd get shit for it I wouldn't have done it in the first place.

On another note, while I actually kind of get why Rockstar did GTAV for PS5, I really hope the starting library is full of more than remasters. Will probably happen unless Sony decides to be like "fuck it, all PS4 games will work on this, including digital ones"

I'm just having a little joke. You're perfectly within your rights to not like the game. I wasn't hugely keen on it the first time round. We all have popular games we don't "get", and that's fine.

Nah, we're cool. My original post was a 'now that would have been interesting' joke. 🙂

I will say that if TLOU2 was going to be a story that was like prologue of TLOU, I'd get it then, because that was the only bit I enjoyed and after the timeskip my enthusiasm immediately deflated. Less Walking Dead, more Night of the Living Dead.

I enjoyed the game when I played it but it didn't leave a lasting impression. Felt like a very run-of-the-mill parable about the cycle of violence, but the gameplay itself was fun and Naughty Dog really excelled at that on the PS3.

I'm not super hyped about the sequel but at some point I'll check it out. I kinda got soured on it because Naughty Dog is such a bad company, but also I think I've largely changed in what I look for in games.

I should also note that there's a gag reel of the ending of the first game being mocapped as a musical, and if they had made the game like THAT it would have been amazing.

EDIT- Found it
