Torchwood was pretty much Russell T Davis baby the whole way through but you have a point Chibnail Co Produced the first 2 series of Torchwood(but only wrote 8 episodes). Just had nothing to do with the third series (the Children of Earth event series} or the american co produced final series

Sadly, if they ever did make an American version it would likely be a theatrical release, with the Doctor probably played by Keanu Reeves, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks. And he'd eventually regenerate into one of the other actors from that list. 

(And I wouldn't want to see any of them in the role, thank you very much)

I dunno, I could see it being just as likely that an American Doctor would actually be played by a well respected British actor doing an accent.

The BBC have announced that The Doctor’s new companion will be revealed tomorrow (Sat 23rd April), oddly, in the middle of Match of the Day. The new sidekick will be introduced during half-time of the FA Cup semi-final between Everton and Manchester United, which should be around 6pm tomorrow.

I'd mirror that opinion, although I also wouldent mind a human from the past or future, I think the new series has been stuck with 21st century humans, with the exception of the one story companions (if you can call them that) the only one who wasnt from the 21st century was Jack.

I agree that she seemed very annoying. I liked the 80s throwback aesthetics though, both the scenery and her clothing seemed very fresh in a bizarre retro way.
