Rumours growing that Rafa Benitez has quit Liverpool this afternoon. Several bookies have apparently suspended betting on Benitez as next Premier League manager to go as his odds have plummeted today from 22/1 to 4/1.

No doubt he'll lead the team out tonight against Stoke and all of this will be complete rubbish.

Come to think of it, is Michael Carrick their best penalty taker now?

With Ronaldo gone I'd only think of Nani and Giggs who'd realistically be good penalty takers... or free-kick takers.

Giggs taking a pen = bad idea. Missed two of his last three, and none of them looked confidently taken. Carrick was chosen because he scored one before when Ronaldo wasn't playing. Still, just give them to Rooney for fuck sake. At least he'll smash 'em.

If only they would be able to keep the "first Premiership home game euphoria" going, but I doubt they will. If anything it's bad for Man Utd that they had to go there on such an auspicious occassion, because I'm sure if they'd met later in the season it'd have been pretty academic.

Not bad company for Sunderland I suppose, Liverpool and Man Utd.
