The International Football Federations Thread

For me it's not so much the silly logistics as the idea that "we created these strict rotation rules about continents and World Cup hosts, and because we're throwing you three poxy group stage matches that'll rule South America out for another cycle". The fucking cheek of it.

It is still quite funny that all these countries are getting to host the World Cup and Saudi Arabia isn’t one of them

These 6 countries are hosting precisely to clear the path for Saudi Arabia in 2034 as a result of that arbitrary rotational policy.

Make that 14. Nice.

It sounds like from what I could gather that the US will be based in the West, and Mexico in the Central. Canada I guess has to play in both Toronto and Vancouver? That kinda sucks for them.

Also Miami in June & July without a roof. Godspeed to whoever plays those matches.

Part of me is pissed that the USA is on the west coast the whole damn group stage because it means I'm not seeing them in person, but can still see multiple games with road trips to Philly and New Jersey.

The MetLife Stadium is supposed to grow legitimate grass fields for the World Cup. They were the best place for a Final because Sofi Stadium wasn't approved for the final I believe, and JerryWorld has zero public transportation. Atlanta is the only other place I think would have been a good final location. With MetLife at least they can just have multiple trains from NYC going there.
