The Last of Us writer has confirmed that the movie adaptation will focus on Joel and Ellie (I wasn't aware of that - was this always a thing?), but he's having a hard time cutting a 15 hour game down into a 2 hour movie, so obviously, things will be cut/different.

If I have not seen Iron Man 3 or Captain America 2, should I watch Guardians of the Galaxy before or after those others?

There really isn't a direct correlation between them but I'd suggest seeing them just because they're good, Captain America 2 especially.

There's really nothing that ties GotG to the MCU, other than a few plot points. You can see GotG without having seen any of the others and not really miss out on anything.

So, guys I've finally laid eyes upon Marvel's gift called the Guardians of the Galaxy and all I have to say is:

Let's Be Cops was a chore to sit through. The two leads have some chemistry, but there is absolutely nothing new or funny to be found and Rob Riggle isn't used to his comedic potential either. It felt like watching a movie copied and pasted from other movies that did it better. Theater was empty except for my friend and some couple who got up and left five minutes early. Can't say I blame them.

Okay, wow, Calvary was really, really good. It's not amazing, but a really solid film and Brendan Gleeson and Aidan Gillen are particularly sublime.

Aw, man, this is such a hard question. There are tons, in my opinion, especially the mid 40's until the 60's period for me.

Is there anything in particular you like? An actor, a genre or something?

Lars and Josh gave great answers, and off the top of my head is Dog Day Afternoon. It's one of my absolute favourites, in my top ten all time for sure.
