I think it's even funnier that Man Utd are trusting a man who has literally won nothing to "re-build" an all-conquering team.

I think it's funnier still that United's league position is tracking Everton's (past) league position so closely. You can't say they didn't know what they were getting.

I really do think Utd hired Moyes as Fergie's successor because Scottish, seems a bit tough.

I honestly think the whole thing is a bit from both the "Moyes isn't actually that good" and "Fergie left this mess" camp. People go on about how this team ran away with the league last year but everyone forgets that this time last season most people were saying how average (by man utd standards) the side was and how lucky they were getting and how van Persie was carrying them and how everyone else was gifting them the league. That didn't change in the summer. Moyes inherited an aging squad with a very weak midfield and very few genuinely talented youngsters.

On the other hand it's become apparent that Moyes can't handle these bigger named players and doesn't seem to be able to get the side set up appropriately for the right games. He's also, possibly not through his own fault, lost that fear factor that they had for so long. For a good few years now, teams have been capable of going to old Trafford on the front foot and getting a result but there was a fear factor and most teams sat back and tried to get a 0-0... Now everyone thinks they have a chance of getting a win there.

Anyway whatever it is, long may it continue. The bigger they are, the harder they fall and all that.

Good half. Galatasaray have had a fairer share of it since they made the change in midfield.

Ref has been a touch annoying, but I presume he's motivated to let all of the hosts' niggling little fouls slide because he'd quite like to leave Istanbul with his life.

Plus we had the silly multi-ball debacle. Really, the other ball should only be available if the game ball is launched into the crowd. You can't take a throw-in when the original ball is still on the bloody pitch.
