He's a strange one, he was highly rated and even called up to the German national squad but had to pull out due to injury. On the other hand he seems to have stagnated in the past couple of seasons, hopefully that's due to not being able to get a consistent run in the side at Hamburg and a move away will rejuvenate his career. Still a loan with an option to buy is a relatively safe gamble for a player of his potential quality.

It is a safe option getting him in on a loan deal. I think he'll surprise us and do quite well to be honest. 

We'd benefit from getting in another centre back before the window closes. Cooper and Jansson look solid, but we need an extra backup option. I read we are linked with William Remy from Montpellier, but it's only speculation at the minute. Hopefully we get something done.

From all accounts he did want to come to Spurs but City forbade it. He will likely end up playing in London in a couple of seasons - probably on Chelsea's bench or something.

I guess the longer it goes, the more unlikely it is that he'll be leaving.

Don't see the point of Arsenal selling him now.

Honestly feel like it's worth taking the risk of him leaving for a free and seeing if he can help get Arsenal back into the top 4 or winning the Europa League then shifting him for 50/60mil now and being unable to bring anyone in on short notice. 

Looks like our interests in Lemar and VVD will have to wait until January / next summer now. We have the option of recalling Origi back in January if we need to. Looks like it'll just be potential outgoings for now.

I'm happy with today! Still waiting to see if Andre Gomes happens. One more that didn't was Lucas Moura from PSG - time just ran out on that apparently.
