  1. The big Steam sale will start today. They don't have the same novelty as they used to, but it's worth bearing in mind if you're planning to buy anything.
  2. This is something that I wasn't keen on as the series progressed. Vader started out as an intimidating figure who did the dirty work (literally a man called "Darth") of the Empire and ended up as Space Jesus by the time the prequels were finished. It makes the officers' mocking of The Force as "your sad devotion to that ancient religion" seem utterly ridiculous when Anakin and the other Jedi were mowing down foes with little more than a stern glance just a few years beforehand. I've been at the point for a while now where I have no desire for any more Star Wars. I haven't seen any of the Disney films and don't intend to. That's not because I think they'd be bad, but because I liked the ending of the original trilogy and don't want to see my decades-old perception of a pleasant conclusion tarnished. As far as I'm concerned, they all lived happily ever after.
  3. From what I've read, RDR 2 works really well with mouse and keyboard controls.
  4. The Blade Runner adventure game from 1997 is now available on GOG. It's often considered one of the best film-based games ever.
  5. What I'm interested in is which old games might be remastered in the near future. We've already seen Jedi Outcast on Switch, with Jedi Academy coming next year. The KOTOR games on Switch would be very nice indeed, although losing out on KOTOR 2's cut content would be a shame.
  6. People on the internet have started calling it the Xbox SeX, so we'll have that to look forward to for the next several years.
  7. In seriousness, I really don't care what it looks like or what its name is. The original Xbox was a big, black crate, and I quite liked that. Backwards compatibility with both Xbox One games and controllers, as well as the Game Pass factor, make this new console potentially an attractive purchase. As always, of course, the price will be the most important part of the puzzle.
  8. Once again, Sony wins the console naming contest by way of not actually trying.
  9. I don't know much about Firewatch, but that's an unusual poetic structure you have there.
  10. Speaking of ticket prices, Aerosmith are charging £149 for their UK shows next year. When they headlined Download a couple of years ago, you could pay around half that for a day ticket to see them, a load of other bands and two on-site NXT shows.
  11. Two Point Hospital is coming to Game Pass when it launches on consoles. It's not clear yet whether or not that means straight away, but it's coming.
  12. TIckets to live events have generally shot up over the the last few years. It used to be that bands toured to promote their albums, but it's now the other way round, what with streaming cutting album sales.
  13. Jim Smith, former manager of Derby County, has died. He started out at Boston United in the Northern Premier League and worked his way up the leagues until getting Derby into the top flight. I think of him as one of the forgotten managers of recent times.
  14. Resident Evil 3 Remake is coming, as expected.
  15. Sony has confirmed a new contract with San Diego Studio to make The Show for the next few years. More interestingly, however, is the revelation that the games will be coming to "console platforms beyond Playstation" from 2021. Both the Xbox and Nintendo Twitter accounts shared the news, so we might be seeing The Show on Xbox and Switch before too long.
  16. A new Bioshock has been announced, although 2K says it's still "several years" away, which makes revealing it a little pointless. There's also no good creative reason to do it either, but money trumps artistic value any day of the week. Look out for the vending machines requiring real world currency or something ridiculous like that.
  17. He could beat Wilder if he boxed intelligently. As long as he didn't go for bravado and engage toe-to-toe, he'd have a good chance of outpointing Wilder. As for Fury, it's his awkwardness that causes the most problems. I don't think AJ's work rate is any lower than Fury's, and his conditioning is usually better too. Of the three, AJ might have the worst chin, but he's also probably the best pure boxer. In any case, Usyk is a potentially big player who not enough people are mentioning right now. He could well be AJ's next opponent, and I think he'll be a massive threat to everyone in the division. He was a very powerful and technically proficient Cruiserweight and is tactically smart too.
  18. That's what he'll also be best served doing if he fights Wilder at some stage. AJ is definitely the better technical boxer, but Wilder has the power to hurt anyone. I'm hoping AJ unifies all the belts, or at least I'd rather he did it than Fury or Wilder.
  19. Dominance from AJ. He outboxed Ruiz all night and never looked like losing. That's what he should have done the first time.
  20. As much as I don't like most aspects of social media, the fact that it can instantly expose people like that is a good thing.
  21. Are those games accessible to people who aren't familiar with the Warhammer franchise?
  22. 1. Bojack Horseman 2. The Good Place 3. South Park 4. What We Do in the Shadows 5. White Gold 6. Big Mouth 7. Game of Thrones I think that's all I watched. The last couple didn't do much for me, but my limited number of shows means they get in by default. I'd like to get round to watching Chernobyl too because it's supposed to be very good.
  23. I know you're joking here, but I'd say that Dina Asher-Smith is one of the most personable British sportspeople I can remember.
  24. The shops I used to work in didn't tend to play Christmas music often, and I was very thankful for that. There was the odd day or two when someone would put in a Christmas CD, but we mostly had a radio next to the PA system. Because we worked at night, the music licence was much cheaper too. I'm a miserable git when it comes to this time of year, anyway. There are very few Christmas pop songs that don't irritate me. I quite like most carols, though.
