Today was supposed to be the day we'd clinch the division and overall standings, but...

All of the MLS sides have advanced into the QF of Champions League, except Columbus who will tonight. Toronto with only half their first team pretty much went out and shocked Liga MX Champions Leon to do it, which was absolutely the biggest shock of the first round.

But who cares about them? Philly thumped the fuck out of dirty ass Saprissa last night! We DOOP'in all over this bitch!

hi hello MLS is back, Sounders had a surprisingly auspicious start to the season in spite of not having Jordan Morris or Nico Lodeiro.

(also Inter Miami have been found to have been in violation of MLS roster rules last season because they essentially had four Designated Players and as a result they've basically had to buy out Matias Pellegrini's contract, send him officially to the USL affiliate so he's still within the club system, and basically just keep him there until they can try to sell him in the summer.)

Watching LAFC/Austin and LAFC just subbed off Carlos Vela, their MVP, basically by accident. What a wonderful league.

Incredible work by Bob Bradley to just immediately sub him off after picking up the slightest of limps, something you basically never see in any level of football.

Night action picked up. DC and Cincy showing life out of the gate but was surprised FCD/COL was scoreless.

Several new players looked/showed well while a few showed the raw quality but are YOUNG.

This should be a rather entertaining season.

The two big TV games yesterday were both great in different ways. Miami actually looked really good against Galaxy, but shocker, Phil Neville didn't make changes early despite actually say early subs was part of the plan, and didn't react at all to Greg Vanney's tactical change. Miami already didn't have their players fully fit, and then they REALLY tired in that hot Ft. Lauderdale (not Miami) weather. Plus, Chicharito already equalled last season's numbers with an opening brace.

The Union/Crew game honestly felt like a Playoff game with the intensity and style of the match. Plus, going to Columbus and getting a road point is a great start to the season for the Union!

Meanwhile, South Florida's #1 team, The People's Himmarshee FC, are set to wrap up their season (weather permitting) next Saturday.

Currently all eight teams in both divisions are in play to make it to the playoff spot, though it's possible for either side to be clinched in depending on results of matches in between.

Philly just CONCACAF'ed the fuck out of Atlanta! 3-0 away win when we could've easily been out of the tie by HT. Love it! But honestly, tie is not over because Atlanta will attack in Chester next week and we're without El Brujo.

Look at that North Division standings. One match left for each team, any of them can make the playoffs.

Look at the standings, what do you see?

On top is Himmarshee

From the Everglades, to the sea

We are South Florida's top team!

Oh, on top is Himmarshee!

EDIT:

Can't say he wasn't warned...

I don't like the Crew or their supporters, but even with that I'm still amazed at the decision to do a lame rebrand like this given that without that fanbase being loud and passionate and refusing to shut up about the planned move to Austin the club wouldn't have even existed to win MLS Cup last year. It wasn't broke! The name is fine, the crest is great, and what they want to replace them with is boring as fuck. I hope Crew fans are as inescapable and incessant about this as they were about the Precourt stuff.
