Norwich City have ditched their new sponsor after a revolt by fans over the gambling company’s sexualised marketing.

On Saturday, the club announced a one-year deal with BK8, an online casino targeted at Asian markets but apparently registered in Malta. The deal, believed to be worth £5m, provoked dissatisfaction among a number of fans unhappy at having a gambling sponsor, and one with an obscure financial structure. Once those fans began searching online they also found online content that did not chime with the Canaries’ professed status as a community club.

Young women in revealing clothing were a consistent theme of the company’s marketing. Norwich persuaded BK8 to delete that content, only for fans to uncover BK8’s services to their Malaysian customers which included, among similar offerings, “sexy Baccarat”.

On Tuesday, a collective of Norwich supporters groups posted a video denouncing the sponsorship deal. Using the hashtag #hergametoo, the video set out what the fans believed were the club’s principles. “Our club does not support or endorse degrading or upsetting images not in keeping with our values as an inclusive community club. Our football club should not associate with anyone else who does.”

On Thursday, the club announced the deal had been cancelled with immediate effect. “As a club, we’re proud of our place within the local community and our relationship with supporters around the world. We have worked tirelessly for a considerable time building relationships across a wide range of mediums and community projects.

“Whilst we anticipated some negative responses to the announcement of the partnership with a betting company, the club understands the reaction to BK8, their affiliates and other similar brands’ ways of marketing, the values of which do not align with those of the football club.

“On this occasion, we got it wrong. For that, and any offence caused, the club apologises.”

I dunno if this is skirting too closely to questionable content but does anyone have a particular recommendation for a seller on DHGate (or similar site)? I think they've come up on here a couple of times before and I've seen them mentioned elsewhere recently. I was looking at getting the Leeds away kit recently, I know people will prefer the home and that red 3rd kit but the reminds of the one we had in the 90's and I like it, but they only had XS and S in stock.

I wouldn't mind getting that one authentically but there's a couple of others I'd kinda want as well like Watford's home shirt (love that design) and a Norway one that is more of a passing thing where I'm less inclined to pay full whack for.

There's a few places listed in this Reddit thread that I'd probably look at otherwise.

Everything I've bought on DHG has been good quality. I'm pretty sure the All Blacks rugby top I bought for £13 is actually a legit one.

Primary and Secondary mostly unchanged but with greater detail in the patterns, and the crest for the secondary (and other kits) match the kit color scheme in a kind of neat little touch:

The Lock and Moonshot are my personal faves, but The Lock mostly because it's a loving tribute to Lockhart Stadium, complete with a reference to the signs that would be seen around the fence separating the stands from the pitch. The crest is also patterned off the flag of Ft Lauderdale.

The only thing I don't like is that while the sponsor is lovely (and a massive upgrade from "insert generic foreign betting firm") it's bloody massive. Otherwise it's top.

So I went ahead and ordered the Watford and Norway shirts, I figured it'd be funny to have them race and see when they got here since it was two different sellers. Order went in on June 19th and the Watford one turned up today, just under 3 weeks so not bad really. I was kinda expecting it to drag on for longer. The Norway one hasn't even been despatched yet so that's more along the lines of what I was expecting.

It's probably not a fair comparison considering I don't have a real one to check against and the manufacturer (Kelme) isn't one I'm familiar with but all the little touches like the Hornet on the back of the neck, the printing on the inner collar and the little manufacturer stickers/logos would easily fool me. I keep thinking back to those things you'd get in the markets on holiday in the 90's where everything like logos and sponsors were hapharzdly printed on but this has an embroided badge and everything. Pretty cool on the whole. Plus it came with shorts that I kinda wasn't expecting, I thought they were just for illustrative purposes on the site. If I can wrangle up a pair of socks I can go full John Terry, or whoever his Watford equivalent is (trick question, that would require them actually winning something).

Official pics should be out today, but it looks possible. I know it's a bit sacrilegious but I don't like the collar. That 95 shirt is the last one I've had that doesn't fit me (the round neck collar straight after still looks great. Big number 3 on the back since they put that sneaky shield there that looks shit without a number), but I didn't like the collar then either. Looks shit fastened, looks worse undone.

I would question if the buttons on the collar even function on this shirt or if they're purely decorative. Given the materials and design of modern shirts it's possible.

I tend to prefer more stripes instead of less stripes. The secondary is rather neat though, curious how it looks in game action.

Not too keen on this one, certainly not as good as the last few years. I was considering getting one with Gilmour on the back, but I don't think I'll bother now.

A rare beauty of a sponsorship logo though. Betting firms cannot get in the bin quickly enough.
