Wrong!

Well, I've only seen the first one. But it was amazing bad.

EDIT: Oh, and also, in I-watched-a-movie news, I saw The Sitter. It weren't good. There were one or two funny bits, but overall I did not find it very enjoyable at all.

Also, I dunno if it was the way it was shot or what but the quality reminded me more of a TV show than a movie. It had an almost porno production kind of feel to it. Did not like.

Started in on Yes, Minister. What a great show. I love that there's no hard villain or hero, everybody just interacts with each other according to their own goals, so every situation is unique.

Just watched Justice League: Doom. Considering the quality of films like this, I really wonder why DC doesn't just go for animated feature-length films all the time, released in theaters, instead of having one or two live-action films that kind of disappoint, and Batman films that aren't part of the comic continuity. Sure, I get that the Direct-to-DVD/Blu-Ray sales are probably doing a good trade for them, and considering the source material for most of them, there might not be more of a fan base. But it'd be kind of awesome to see a Justice League full feature animated film that actually gets released in theaters. Then again, maybe Time Warner is wary of doing that after the limited profits of Mask of the Phantasm. Either way, definitely recommend - Vandal Savage is almost a better villain than Ra's al-Ghul for the story.

Yesterday I watched Raising Victor Vargas, about 10 years old and most of the cast made their debut in that movie, and for a few it was there first and only role, but I really really enjoyed it, great movie, it was just so real.

John Carter from Mars.

I felt like there was two problems with this movie - it should have been a trilogy as opposed to one whole movie and that it was way to child orientated. Was decent enough though.

Watched the Lindsay Lohan/Jamie Lee Curtis version of Freaky Friday. It's sorta' weird seeing Mark Harmon as Curtis' character's fiancee, and knowing that the casting director of NCIS liked the chemistry they had so well that Curtis was brought on in a role romancing Gibbs.

Midnight in Paris. Really good flick. I enjoyed it. Owen Wilson was cast perfectly, probably one of the best roles (outside a Wes Anderson film) that he could have been put in.

Retreat

It was on my rental list for months and I had no real desire to watch it anytime soon, but it arrived yesterday.

Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton are in it, but it's unspectacular for over an hour. Interesting ending, but it doesn't really make up for the rest of it being a bit of a bore.

Words don't describe how much I couldn't stand that movie.

However, I agree with all of this.

And I saw Five Year Engagement. It was pretty god damn funny and had a nice mix of drama in a similar vein to Funny People (another one I enjoyed.) However, it did suffer from the same exact problem as Funny People considering it ran a bit too long. Alison Brie and Chris Pratt were both fucking excellent in it, though.
