The same Milner who until a couple of games ago was about the only player that looked consistently good?

No, the same Milner that has been pretty dire for quite some time now but gets praised because he 'runs a lot and works hard'.

The same player that has been very good for Manchester City this season?

If he played for the Red half of Manchester rather than the Blue half you would be singing his praises far and wide...

But he hasn't played tha well for City, has he? He hasn't really been on the pitch and I can't see him making too many starts with the likes of Nasri, Silva and Toure in his position.

Milner plays a central role nowadays, deeper than any of the players you've mentioned. For the most part anyway.

Giving credit to Wales, that was a great performance, England were not at their best, but Wales passing game was very very tidy at times and they can take a lot from the game and can look forward to a more successful World Cup qualification campaign.

England, 6 pts and no goals conceded in the 2 games over the last few days, solid to very good performances. We look like we have a good chance next summer, if we can keep the concentration levels up.

*Bale and Ramsey ran the show, popped up everywhere and just caused havoc against us the whole match. Really good performances from the two of them.

*I thought Downing and Barry were good for us.

*There seems to be too many times when we're attacking where a player will move back down the pitch into space to receive the ball, rather than up the pitch into space to keep the attacking move going.

*Smalling seemed to struggle a bit and some of his balls over the top were shockingly bad.

*We played some nice football in stages, particularly in the run up to and immediately after our goal, but were lucky in the end when you think of Bale being called offside and Earnshaw spaffing it over from a yard.

*I know it gets mentioned every time England play at Wembley but whose bright idea was it to put the corporate seats right opposite the TV cameras? The giant absence of anyone in those seats for 10 minutes at the start of each half is depressing.
