I honestly am keeping my expectations of Vicky 3 extremely low after their last string of games have been lacklustre to say the least. And to not even mention EU4: Leviathan that completely broke EU4.

In any case, we'll always have Vicky 2 + HFM/HPM.

I think ultimately the modern paradox strategy of making both accessible yet 'deep' grand strategy games ends up alienating their core audience and not really dragging in enough fans from outside the bubble. CK3 was their best release in a while, but it still needs a lot of work to get on the level of CK2.

HOI4 has been out 5 years and still has some big issues with core gameplay (Soviet/Italian focus trees). And it took them 2 years to get Imperator Rome to a level of coherence and now they've all but abandoned development because that game has been a money sink for them.

I love Paradox, but at this point they're coasting on goodwill and rapidly burning through it with stuff like EU4: Leviathan managing to retroactively break winning formulas.

So, exactly what is wrong with GOG Galaxy 2.0 or whatever it's called?

From time to time, CDKeys will have a game on offer but it's via there and people won't touch it. I don't know if it's because of needing yet another game launcher to run games off of, or what.

Today's offer is Cyberpunk, and it's been gradually dropping in price. Now it's below £15.

You'd be able to download the game without Galaxy anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem. The only thing is that, without running the game through Galaxy, you'd have to manually download new patches.

I bought this earlier in the week, because why the fuck not. It's for a good cause. But r/GameDeals has a list of the games sorted by Overwhelmingly Positive, Very Positive and Positive. One thing I wonder about fps...

Is 30fps on say, a TV screen, less of an eyesore than through a monitor?

Only because I've never really paid much attention to fps on consoles, and only when there's a significant dip do I notice much of a difference.

But on my laptop (the screen is 144hz), I run Rust anything between 70 and 120fps, and PES2021 at a constant 144fps. If I switch off the mains power and run off just the battery, it drops to between 20 and 30fps and it looks so shaky and unplayable.

The most unbelievable thing about XCOM 2 is watching all the people turning against ADVENT after you let the cat out of the bag. Yeah, like that'd happen  .

RIP Bob the defecting Elite Stun Lancer and....whatever the name of the dead Andromedon I hacked in the last mission was. Bob was a good former Elite Stun Lancer, he blew up some barrel which bought me an extra turn I didn't really need, and the Andromedon did fuck all until I had my Templar kill it rather than let the hack fail at the wrong time. And now their watch is ended.
