I got Dynasty Warriors 8, I think the major plus for me is that I've never played any of the other games in the franchise. I'm not usually big on beat-em-up games, but it's relatively decent, and although most enemies are useless in defending their stuff, the named officers at least provide some challenge.

Haha of course it is. It's firefly not serenity. No joss whedon to be seen here.

What? Also, no matter the property, I just can't get excited about a trailer that reveals nothing about a game except that people have thought of it.

Well yeah...that's why the firefly movie was called serenity in the first place. Fox owns firefly rights.Even says fox in trailers.

What is "Haha of course it is" even in reference to? What, Joss Whedon would never make a mobile game, so therefore we should obviously assume it was a non-Whedon production?

No...you should assume its not whedon by the fact it says FOX on it.

And one thing fix loves to do is make firefly as horribly received as possible.

Meaning "haha, of course its a mobile game. Just another fuck you quick cash grab rather than building something quality for it."

Maybe you don't know Fox's legacy with firefly, but not showing the first episode until last, switching around their order and times show on a weekly basis... Fox never supported this show at all.

I do, but you responded to a thing literally nobody brought up or even hinted at. You made a complete non sequitur. But I suppose that's why you're EWB's Best Poster.

Oh. Well, given the great mobile games I have played, I wouldn't ascribe the title mobile to non-quality, and given Dollhouse, I wouldn't ascribe Whedon to quality necessarily, but you know. Make your assumptions.

No love for a certain game released (in the UK) today? Dynasty Warriors 8 was released in the uk today and I managed to get a copy from my local GAME store :D. Been playing through it all morning/Afternoon and it's pretty good, not much different from DW7 though. Anyone else got it?

People love Dynasty Warrior games? what the actual hell...

Also, what would there be to discuss about it?

"I picked this Chinese warrior dude with a crazy weapon, ran into an army of non-existant AI and killed them all. Now I'm going to do this again for the next 20 hours until I get bored."

And then next year, they'll make the re-released "special edition" with NEW HAT!

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is so god damn good. My first Castlevania game and I love it. Just when I think I've finished the game, BOOM, dungeon flipped, pretty much get the whole game to go through again. Amazing how something as small as flipping the sprites and refilling loot can make the game feel so much bigger.

It's pretty crazy that they made that whole castle with all the different rooms, corridors connecting them, enemy positioning etc etc which is bad enough but then you make it functional when it's flipped turned upside down.

It works so well, it's crazy. I'm shocked my reaction wasn't "Ugh, that's kind of cheap" and instead was "Holy shit, I get to experience the game all over again, essentially build myself up again, whilst also keeping my current stuff?!" This is pretty much what I've always felt any New Game+ should be like. You keep your progress, it helps towards the new goals, but the difficulty is expanded on and you gain access to items that're great for this new play through, but would be way OP for a first time through. Add in some new bosses and you got yourself a stew going.

Huh. They did that with Smash Bros Brawl story mode iirc, and it turned me off the game cause it was such a dumb thing to do.

I didn't even want Sonic...

To be fair, Smash Bros. Brawl's story mode was pretty stupid.

I'm getting bored of the games I play, was looking for something specific really. Are there any good games out there that are real time games where you have allies? I just don't like fighting alone on games like these. I would prefer older games or DS ones so I could emulate them, but any will do.

Each new Dynasty Warriors game offers a unique spin on the genre by putting a different number after the words "Dynasty Warriors."
