8-years $136,000,000

I'm an expansion team that likely won't compete for years, but having him in the line-up could at least keep me excited.

All of my Boston friends are like "but he got 22 wins!  that counts for something!"

Unfortunately for them, anybody who thinks pitcher wins matters in 2016 is a moron who knows nothing about baseball.  Look at the stats a pitcher can actually control, not whether or not their offense gave them any sort of run support on a day they happened to be pitching.  Verlander was better than Porcello in nearly every important category.
