Fair play to Fulham. Did what they needed to do, it's not their fault Brentford's keeper decided to malfunction and forget how to play in goal.

Shame for Brentford really but they did have their chances to secure automatic promotion and blew that.

Real cunt shit from the Fulham goalie. Should have been sent off just for being such a dick.

Time wasting 101. Every team would have done it.

Excited to see Fulham back in the Championship in 2021/22!

Our team is probably not as 'good' as before, but we are better tactically. Will be interesting to see who we buy etc, but it'll be tough.

Deserved win in an otherwise poor game.

Grabbing the ball out of the goal and kicking it away, sure. That's a tactic every goalie does and since it's not penalized regardless of which team's keeper does it, sure.

That's not what he did. He lost the footrace for the ball, so tackled the Brentford player, still lost the tug-of-war for the ball, so decided to attack him for no good reason other than he isn't very good at his job. The second attempted takedown was most definitely cunt shit, real horrible character shown by him.

Just after Brentford pulled a goal back? Nah, nothing in that at all. Wouldn’t say that he isn’t very good at his job either, all things considered he’s probably pretty good at his job.

One thing that did stick out for me watching back, is that Pontus Jansson literally jogged back after Joe Bryan for the second goal. No sense of urgency at all. Such a weird bloke.

Wanted Brentford to go up as someone different, but fair play to Fulham. Hopefully they do a Norwich next season though :shifty:

I'm trying to think of the best way to phrase this, but I question how much football you've watched and what games you've watched if you are that outraged by a scuffle in the goal given the circumstances, or haven't seen one before. A scuffle in the goal as one team tries to slow things down and the other speed things up happens a fair bit. It even got a mention on the Football Cliches twitter account as it is that - a cliche of these types of games.

Posted after one about him doing all the cliche things a goalie does - going down after each catch, going down with cramp, etc.

It isn't 'fair', but pretty much every team does it.

At 2-0 going into stoppage time I said that it'll be sods law Brentford get a goal back when it's too late to pressure them, especially when you get the inevitable tussle in the net for the ball taking up time. Anyone who's seen football before knew full well that would happen at that point should Brentford score. It's silly but it happens any time a team are trying to hold up a game to hang on at the end. We had pretty much a keeper time wasting full house by the end of the game.

It is an odd one, but I don't think Brentford score unless they go 2-0 down. They just felt devoid of anything yesterday.

David Raya has always been a dodgy keeper.

My mate who is a Leeds fan had suggested that he was their weak link.

This was in the 1/100 times that the opposition did their research and waited for him to go wandering of course which, added to the hilarious late dive made it look a lot worse than if he'd been simply wrong footed. It's not the most bizarre goalkeeping we saw during the season but for it to happen then and in that game is going to be badly magnified.

Neil Cox has joined Scunthorpe as manager, leaving his position as Notts County's assistant manager. By all accounts, he's been a good influence at Notts, so it's a shame to see him go, but I can't blame him for wanting to take his first managerial position in a higher league.

League's One and Two have voted in favour of the new Salary Cap, which takes effect immediately.

League One and League Two clubs have voted to implement a salary cap, and the English Football League is confident the measures can take immediate effect despite the Professional Footballers’ Association describing them as “unlawful and unenforceable”.

The EFL believes its rules are binding between the league and clubs. The PFA said the caps must remain on hold until after arbitration and that it had served notice on the league, claiming the EFL had “ignored its legal obligation to consult with the PFA and the Professional Football Negotiating and Consultative Committee”.

The Guardian understands discussions involving the EFL and PFA have taken place at the PFNCC.

It is believed League Two clubs voted 22-2 in favour of a £1.5m cap; the ballot in League One for a £2.5m cap was tighter, with 16 clubs in favour, seven against and one withholding their vote. Wages, bonuses, image rights and agents’ fees are covered by the cap, although bonuses related to cups or promotion are excluded.

Clubs also agreed to maximum 20-man squads, although players under the age of 21 will be exempt from this and the salary cap, and squads of 22 will be allowed in 2020-21 in a transition season.

Penalties have been agreed for clubs who exceed the cap by up to 5%, with fines rising to £3 for every £1 of overspend. Money collected will be redistributed among clubs who have stayed within the rules. A disciplinary commission will deal with clubs who break the cap by more than 5%.

Southend, relegated to League Two, are understood to be one of the clubs to have voted against the cap. Forest Green voted in favour, with their owner, Dale Vince, saying it would prevent financial “recklessness”.

He told the Guardian: “It will bring sustainability, it will stop the profligate spending that gets one or two clubs into trouble, like Bury last season, and it will stop the recklessness. Budgets in the division last season would have varied between £1m and £5m, but with a cap of £1.5m it should make for a tighter league.”

Discussions are ongoing in the Championship with regard to controlling costs but nothing is expected for the 2020-21 season. Some clubs previously suggested a cap in the region of between £18-20m may be suitable.

Meanwhile, prospective new Charlton owner Paul Elliott and lawyer Chris Farnell have both had their applications to take over the League One club rejected by the EFL.
