Antony slows down so many counters because he always plays with his left foot, so instead of actually progressing up the pitch, he switches to his stronger side and looks the other way.

There was an argument last season that despite not providing many goals or assists, he was solid defensively, but he's been pathetic in that regard today as well.

Officiating implosion at St James Park right now.

3 Newcastle players booked for an Arsenal foul, Guimaraes elbows Jorginho in the head and kicks the ball at an arsenal player in anger with nothing. Ref has totally lost it.

Carra thinks Bruno doesn't deserve a red card because he purposefully, off the ball, smacked Jorginho in the head with his forearm, rather than purposefully, off the ball, smacking Jorginho in the head with his elbow.

eah Guimares was ridiculously lucky and a further sign of the ref and players losing the plot. It's one of those games where players "see what they get away with" and little late hits and stuff being unpunished escalates it. I do think it's a close one on the challenge that led to things spiralling. He finally makes contact low down but he flies in there off the ground, it's one where I think if it had been a red, it probably won't be overturned same as the yellow. Can't tell with how much things are refereed these days but half time came at a good time as both managers can try and calm the players and reset.
