Yeah, I finished Season 3 of Archer. Fantastic as ever. Enjoyed the first 2 of season 4. Still annoyed it took me this long to watch. It slots nicely just behind Parks & Rec and Breaking Bad as my favourite current show.

So after seeing Man Of Steel a few weeks back, I finally decided to watch the final season of Smallville properly, and I have to say its been a pleasant surprise. Normally my problem with the show is the writers usually knew how to write an interesting premiere and usually a good finale, it was just everything inbetween always came off aspadding to stop the writers from burning through storstorylines, so I'm glad that isn't so much the case this season.

I just got done the episode where voting for VRA happens, and quite frankly I felt like the storyline could have easily been a season long thing, but I understand it was just a tool to ultimately give our heroes hope and morale boost in our they needed it the most as they face there greastest enemy yet.

Really, my only real complaint about the season as a whole would be Deadshot. I, atleast found it hard to take him seriously when they had that very odd western themed music play everytime he was on screen, I could forgive the cowboy look they gave him, but that music was just a no-no.

My big problem was that they didn't have the budget to do Darkseid so they did a pretty fucking watered down version of him. Shouldn't have bothered in the first place if they couldn't go to the lengths they'd need to. I mean it wasn't bad, just kind of disappointing? Especially when you consider that Darkseid wasn't even really all that featured, it was just... alternate timeline possessed Lionel Luthor.

Not to mention it just totally didn't live up to Callum Blue's Zod.

Jeez DTB & just get married to Callum Blue already!

Re: Ray Donovan... I'm so over the anti-hero guy television shows. That's why I can't watch Ray Donovan. Cable dramas, while edgy, are getting a bit redundant at this point. Even a show like Louis, which is brilliant and amazing, sort of falls into that same category of television viewing - watching a guy grapple with his darkness and struggle to exist in the world. I'm not saying male anti-heroes are terrible and all shows revolving them are terrible (Breaking Bad, to me, is the best show on television), but it kind if of sucks to see a show like Enlightened get canceled, which is REALLY great and wasn't given a proper shot. I think there is lots of quality shows on cable, but I think there is a bit of conditioning going on that is leading people to gravitate towards a pretty redundant and boring trope at this point. Heck, I even don't mind watching a really divisive show like Girls, because it is kind of a breath of fresh air on cable television these days.

Started watching the X Files from season one. Ridiculous to think that this show is 20 years old already.

The pilot episode had more jazzy sax music than your average porno though, it was very jarring.

Pretty good start for The Bridge. I really like Ruiz and the Mexican side of things were much more interesting. I feel like they should have done a better job of establishing that Sonya has Asperger's, might end up being a turn off for viewers that can't catch on. Mattew Lillard was pretty great in his role, hoping he sticks around for a few episodes.

Summer Glau has been added to the cast of Arrow for next season. Conflicted about this. Love her as an actress, but she's typically the kiss of death for tv shows

He's not saying she's specifically responsible for any of them, just that the shows she's on tend to get canceled when she comes on. It's kind of a reoccurring thought with a few actors (Judy Greer is another).

Has anybody caught any of "Orange is the New Black" yet? It looks pretty good and Alan Sepinwall gave it a very good review

The cape, terminator, firefly...yeah id say she's kissed of death her fair share.

Terminator still bugs me. That show actually got better with each episode.

As well as Alphas, Dollhouse and The 4400.

Alphas is the one I'm most upset about because the second season of that show was tremendous. One of the best shows of 2012, in fact.

Agreed.

The way they played it, I felt like I was seeing something I wasn't supposed to be seeing.

Made me feel bad. :(

I don't think anyone should take sole blame for The Cape having kiss of death. That show was dreadful.

Hold the phone...The Cape wasn't dreadful. It was risky trying to create a new superhero series, , especially on NBC. Given a network like FX, I think the show could've worked out much better
