Gabriel
He did. He just didn't finish him. He dominated him for two rounds, then got tired. Not that he got tired so much, as he just didn't take Bigfoot seriously as a challenge. He played with him too long without putting him away, ate a shot that rocked him, and then got finished by a guy who treated his opponent with respect. Alistair Overeem's biggest flaw is that he's too good. He's so good, that he doesn't feel like anyone can touch him, and he doesn't protect himself. If Reem came out and finished his fights as quickly and brutally as he can, he would be demolishing the Heavyweight division.
Gazz
Till Cain put him on his back and used his face as a punching bag.
Walker
It still baffles me that Antonio Silva is getting a title shot. Not that he doesn't deserve it, but because I don't see how the fight can go any different to the last time he fought Cain.
Benjamin
If anyone was interested, Jon Jones and Alex Gustauffson were having a little twitter war a few hours ago. Actually put a smile on my face Also, Dana is announcing the main event for the first Fox Sports card next week. Excited for that, think it could be the lightweight title fight or something like Mauler versus Texeira if he wins this weekend.

Asuka's Gonna Kill You
Dos Santos In other news, Forrest Griffin has retired. Easily one of my favorites, sounds like the right call from him though.
Walker
Look forward to Cain/JDS III. Not like JDS had a legitimate excuse for how badly he did last time, but I do feel that was down to taking a pounding in the first round.
Benjamin
JDS is the fucking man. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best card of 2013. Top to bottom, great, mostly meaningful fights. Don't think the UFC can make a better one this year.
Benjamin
Cat Zingano has dropped out of the new TUF season and has been replaced by Miesha Tate. Which means the Tate-Carmouche fight is off for now. Not sure about the title fight, though hopefully Tate isn't getting it. The worst part about this is that there'll be more Bryan Caraway on TV. EDIT: Oh, sorry, so Tate is getting the title shot. Which fucking sucks balls. Feel terrible for Zingano. Miesha doesn't deserve a shot at all, no matter how she tries to convince us that she does. Gazz
Hopefully this leads to the first ever UFC intergender deathmatch where Ronda tears off Caraway's arm and beats him to death with the soggy end.

Going way overboard there. Tate getting the title shot makes perfect sense really, no reason not for it to happen. Previous history with Ronda and they're the two coaches for TUF. Tate would of been getting the shot anyway had she managed to last a few more minutes when she faced Zingano, it's not as if she was utterly trounced and is coming off of some horrendous losing streak. Works out well this way really. Zingano will be back and get her title shot eventually, which also gives them time to get a few of the other female fighters over and in line too. I'd say win/win, but as mentioned, this might mean hearing or seeing more of MMA's biggest cunt, Caraway.
Benjamin
I don't know, I don't like that just because they were dominating the majority of the fight then getting finished decisively means that they deserve a title shot. And it wasn't really like she was trouncing Cat, I feel, she had a slight upper hand, if I remember correctly. So yeah, not going way overboard at all. Slightly, maybe. This is definitely the year of undeserved title shots, IMO.
Asuka's Gonna Kill You
In a situation like this though, what else could they of done? Tate without a doubt makes the most sense to coach alongside Ronda and then go on to face her after the show. What point would there really be in making it a non title fight? Zingano is looking at 6-9 months out, they really can't be waiting that long to have Ronda make another title defence. Tate comes in and coaches against her on TUF and it makes logical sense for her to then fight her at the end of the show and for that fight to be for the title. That's just the way it goes. Zingano deserved a title shot after defeating Tate, but she's out injured. The shot then falls to the next person in line, which right now is obviously Tate. If she was getting a shot over a healthy Zingano, you'd have a case, but with her out injured for a lengthy period, whether you really think she deserves the shot or not (which she does), it makes more sense than any other decision they could of make. Zingano has already been promised the winner of that fight too (granted she has a healthy recovery of course).
Benjamin
I never said anything about what else the UFC should do. I know it's their only option. What I said was that Tate doesn't deserve it. And she doesn't.
Gabriel
She deserves it more than anyone else that's available, and that's all that matters. The only other option really would be to cancel the female coaches for the season, but it's such a huge deal, and it would be such a huge setback to womens MMA in the UFC. Chris2K
Rumours that Bryan Caraway was seen around an ice rink that Zingano was at with a baton in his hand are apparently false. Nothing says "current reference" like a 1994 figure skating one.

Benjamin
So, not that it matters much anyway, but Stephan Bonnar and Forest Griffin are getting inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame. Forrest, I can see a case for, in fact I think he deserves it. Bonnar, on the other hand, not so much. This article is what actually got me to want to talk about it.
