Waitaminute. Book spoilers.

Is everyone in agreement that the way Balon died was just a huge coincidence that coincides with Stannis and his sacrifice of blood, or do we all really think R'hllor had something to do with that?

I personally think that R'hllor did have something to do with it, but they haven't actually proved his existence, right? Or am I forgetting something?

I'd suggest that Euron and one of his cronies had more to do with Balon's 'fall' than R'hllor.

There's no reason both can't be accurate.

In the books, it's pretty heavily implied that Balon was killed by a Faceless Man at Euron's behest, and most people have just accepted it, but Melisandre's line of argument is the same one people use in real life when they credit God for curing the terminally ill and such - he works in mysterious ways and uses all kinds of tools for it.

Unrelated question: Was there ever any reason given for Daario Nahaaris' re-casting?

The reason I ask is because a possibility's just occurred to me. There's a theory that suggests Euron Greyjoy and Daario Nahaaris are the same person - not one I'm in favour of, but it is out there - and I'm wondering if maybe the re-casting was because that's actually true, and the showrunners looked at their existing Daario and realised that he looked NOTHING like a Greyjoy. Anybody who's watched either episode, does new Daario look more Westerosi?

The Daario role was recast because the previous actor signed on to be the new Transporter.

Re; BE, Daario recasting. Book spoilers:

I think you're a bit too far down the tinfoil rabbit hole!

:P

Daario can't be Euron, they're both accounted for throughout their appearances. Daario was locked away and saw Dany a few times whilst Euron was in the Iron Islands.

Maybe it's cause I binged on this other show's most recent season just a few days ago, but all I could think about during the climactic scene of last night's episode was this... So, I got on my editing program and threw it together in a couple of minutes.

MAJOR SPOILERS FROM LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE DON'T CLICK IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT

I can't believe they killed him just like that.

One minute he's alive and the next he's gone. In a moment.

Poor Axell Florent.

On the small chance anyone who hasn't read the books wants to know who did it.

Olenna Tyrell (Margaery's grandmother) and Petyr Baelish.

More book spoilers, relating to the layout of this series (all based on Storm of Swords):

Episode four is entitled 'Oathkeeper' - I'm guessing this will centre around Jamie refusing to leave the Kingsguard.

Episode eight is 'The Mountain and the Viper' - obviously the duel for Tyrion's freedom.

It seems quite deep in the series though, considering the Purple Wedding happened so early. I expect some Tyrion-lite storylines between now and then.

Also... do we think the finale will be Tyrion's escape? Or maybe Littlefinger offing Lysa?
