That is a lie, they didn't show the "Good Vibrations" scene at all in the trailer.

I think the scene around the fireplace would arguably be the horror scene of the decade if we had no idea what was coming in the movie. It definitely made it the best trailer of the decade and how do you sell that movie without it, but man... if only I could've gone in blind on that one.

Saw Portrait of a Lady on Fire  last night.

It was really good. Beautiful looking film.

Also got to hear part of The Lighthouse beforehand while eating at the restaurant in the Irish Film Insititue. Because apparently the foghorn is that loud.

Watched Knives Out yesterday. What a fantastic movie.

I've seen it 3 times now, it gets even better on repeated viewings, which is tough for a whodunnit, but much like Clue, it's infinitely rewatchable.

Also Invisible Man made $50 million worldwide in 3 days on a $7 million budget. While studios keep dropping $200 million in hopes that they might have a Marvel-sized hit on their hands, horror keeps bringing in huge returns on very small budgets.

BTW, any interest in a horror thread or would I just be talking to myself?

I'd probably check in on it and discuss things, I only watch a handful of horror films a year but I'm much less averse to it now than when I was a teen.

I'm actually planning on seeing Invisible Man today, too.

I saw Emma tonight.

I don't like period pieces, Jane Austen is not my thing and I pretended to read it in high school and managed to pass the tests somehow.

Anyway, the movie is marvelous.

Just finished Guns Akimbo and man that movie is just a fun wild ride from start to finish.  Action scenes great and the villain, Riktor, is just so over the top its amazing

Just saw it myself. Yeah, Riktor is fun. This one wasn’t amazing, but good and really solid in parts. Think I’d have found it a lot funnier if they hadn’t shown some of the best stuff in the trailer.

In terms of “movies with weird roles Daniel Radcliffe wants to play since Harry Potter because he fucking can”, this is sort of middle of the pack. Swiss Army Man might never be beaten in that category, and I vastly enjoyed Kill Your Darlings and Jungle more as well. It’s actually just really fun to track the trajectory of his career. So far the only one that I was probably vastly disappointed by were his horror showings in Horns and the Woman in Black.
