Thing is, Ronaldo also performs consistently in the Champions League as well. It's probably pointless to go into stuff like this, but Suarez has been incredible for Liverpool, but all the best players in the world do it in their respective leagues and in Europe, too. Suarez is in insane form, though. If Liverpool don't get top 4, do you think he'll leave? Surely it'd be time?

Without a doubt. If somebody coughs up the £130m or whatever it is though, obviously.

Oh, away from the anger and disgust yesterday there was a comedy chant of 'You can stick your Head and Shoulders up your arse' at Joe Hart yesterday which he had a chuckle at. Unusual for our lot to be witty these days, made a change.

Does this make Messi the only player in history who's reputation actually lowers when he isn't playing? The anti-Cleverly if you will?

Miles ahead feels an enormous stretch.

Nothing to do with playing or not.

Ronaldo has done it in the Premier League and La Liga. Messi hasn't and likely never will.

Unless the Messi to City rumours are true!

Had an arguement with a mate the other day about Messi not proving himself in the Premier League. Why the hell does Messi need to prove himself against Stoke or Norwich when he's facing the best teams in Europe in the Champions League? If you can get it done against the best then you can obviously get it done against the rest.

The argument that the Premier League sets the bar for players bemuses me at times. It always feels like the subtext is "unless they can still perform at that level whilst being repeatedly punched in the face by Lee Cattermole, I'm not convinced".
