Matticus
Marlon King is a twat. Shocking It just shocks me that someone like that doesn't count his lucky stars that he was even blessed with a return to football. Baffles me the idiocy of some people. Admin Lineker Posted August 1, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted August 1, 2013 Should have never left Watford (just saying) Anyone else watching SSN's 92 Live?
Admin Lineker Posted August 2, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted August 2, 2013 92 Live was awesome. Sky Bet have Watford at 100/30 to get promoted. Worth a punt. Leeds United owners GFH Capital are close to buying back the club's Elland Road home, BBC Radio Leeds understands.
Thrilla
So er... Coventry are going into liquidation.
lanky316
92 Live was awesome. I could accept Borough, at a pinch I could've accepted Town but I can't forgive Sky calling us Stevenage United.... I did however love looking around the training complex, amazing how nicely that thing's grown in the last few years.
Admin Lineker Posted August 2, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted August 2, 2013 So er... Coventry are going into liquidation. Isn't it just one of their holding companies? I don't think it changes anything except they'll get another points penalty.
Matt
Yeah it seems like the holding company has been liquidated. If it is the club then Sky Sports News aren't giving it the coverage it would deserve.
Admin Lineker Posted August 2, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted August 2, 2013 The 'golden share' is going to be transferred to allow them to continue playing football.
DavidMarrio
Doesn't it mean that they are going to have to play at Northampton for next season? Wasn't that one of the issues regarding one of the holding companies that it meant they wouldn't be allowed to play in the Ricoh?
Matt
My understanding was that they weren't playing at the Ricoh regardless because the stadium owners wanted too much in rent.
Ant
It's a shame for Coventry. Naturally i despise them being a Villan but no fan should ever had to endure their club possibly getting liquidated. Footballs gone mad. On one side of the spectrum, you have clubs spending upwards of £100m on one player whereas a club with a lot of history and tradition is going down the shitter. The Beautiful Game is dead. Colly
They haven't been liquidated. And football hasn't gone mad, Coventry have just been poorly managed.
Ant
One of the companies has and they haven't got a ground anymore (which is a shame as it's gorgeous) but i get your point. I do think football has gotten ludicrous though. How many big clubs have been in administration/liquidated over the last ten years? You can put the blame on mismanagement etc, which is right, but the bottom line is football is not a sport anymore. It's just a way of robbing the fans and lining the pockets of the fat cats in charge.

Matt
I always don't know how to feel in situations like Coventry's. On one hand it's horrible for the fans (I'll never forget going to York away preseason in 2007, fearing that it may well be the last time that Leeds United ever played) but on the other hand I can't help but remember that 65/71 clubs didn't give a flying fuck about Leeds United when it came to voting in the Football League's kangaroo court. The turkeys voted for Christmas and now Santa's on his way.
