Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith, helped by former Peterborough United manager Barry Fry, delivered his baby after his girlfriend Amber Fry went into labour, reports The Argus.

Miss Fry - daughter of former Peterborough United manager Barry - gave birth to their baby girl at the couple's home in Warninglid, near Horsham.

Mackail-Smith says: "During [the labour] it was very difficult. Amber was in a lot of pain and we had no painkillers but when the baby was born it was amazing - it was the best thing I have ever been involved in."

Queens Park Rangers issue a statement following reports they are in talks over building a 40,000-capacity ground ground as part of a £10 billion Canary Wharf-style development at Old Oak Common, near Wormwood Scrubs and Loftus Road.
