So MLS has found its buyers for the club that was Chivas USA but will be taking a hiatus next season to focus on rebranding and so on.

One of the buyers is Vincent Tan.

This is going to be hilarious.

EDIT: More general thoughts. Presumably with the league being at 20 teams next year, a team is going to be moved to the Western Conference. Hopefully Houston for reasons both logistical (it'd mean that they're actually in the same conference as the other Texas team) and competitive balance-wise (moving SKC to the west would make the balance of talent between the two conferences even MORE lopsided).

Crew rebrand released yesterday.

Honestly, I like it. Nod to the original crest with the mini 96 crest in the middle, the 9 yellow/black diagonals are representative of the 9 other founding clubs of the MLS along with the Crew, and the checkerboard is a nod to the supporters.

And so, it's come to this. With both teams blowing their matches this weekend, the Sounders and the Galaxy will go into the final two weeks of the regular season level at the top of the table on points with two matches to go, and both of those matches are against each other. Sounders just need to win one of those matches to win the Supporters Shield, but, uh. It's LA.

Shit's gonna be intense. Both teams are filled with players that parallel each other in some way; Donovan and Dempsey, Keane and Martins, Yedlin and Zardes, Alonso and Juninho, Marshall and Gonzalez...
