Toro Rosso have taken up their option Carlos Sainz's contract for next year. No word on whether he will still be partnered by Kvyat, though.

It also appears that Sauber have been bought, too. Hopefully that's the end of the financial woes for the time being.

I can't post the picture for some reason but Nico was pretty much going straight on into Lewis with the apex of the corner long gone.

Rosberg's being investigated for the crash and driving an unsafe car, they're not even looking at Hamilton at all.

I wish Eddie Jordan or Brundle were doing the podium interviews today.

Rosberg: "I'm absolutely gutted. Unbelievable. I was sure to win that race. The last lap was pretty intense. I was struggling a lot with my brakes and my tyres were degrading. It gave Lewis a chance but I was confident I could defend. I went a bit deep in the corner but I dictate because I'm on the inside.

"I was surprised Lewis turned in."

Formula E is even more of a joke today. Di Grassi looks like he purposefully drove in to Buemi on the first lap, which would have won him the title. But because they both managed to get in their spare cars, they then literally spent the rest of the race in an effective time trial between each other with Buemi (deservedly) getting the fastest lap and therefore he won the championship.

Manor!!!

Big point for Manor in more ways than one. They manage to climb ahead of Sauber and if they can stay there they're guaranteed quite a good chunk of cash. Also these are the first team points since the late Jules Bianchi picked up 2 points in Monaco 2014. Also great to see Wehrlein firmly establish himself as a great driver and he really deserved the point.

Also great weekend from Jenson, starting third and managing to take 6th place in the race, he closed in on Fernando's point tally and McLaren has closed in on Toro Rosso on top of that.

Finally Max Verstappen getting his second podium of the season after his win in Spain, and he drove impeccably again managing to keep the tires good for an insane amount of laps, which really has become his forté especially if you compare it to Ricciardo who has been struggling since Monaco.

Red Bull and Aston Martin have unveiled the much-anticipated AM-RB 001 hypercar, which has been co-designed by Formula 1 car designer Adrian Newey.

Newey, behind 10 world championship winning cars in an F1 career spanning nearly 30 years, has previously said he has achieved the second of his childhood goals by working on the project.

He worked with Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman and chief special operations officer David King to create the car.

The full AM-RB 001 specification was not released however it will be powered by a naturally aspirated V12 engine and its carbon fibre construction is expected to give it a power to weight ratio of 1:1.

"I've long harboured the desire to design a road car," said Newey.

"The formation of Red Bull Advanced Technologies brought me a step closer to realising that ambition, but I believed we should work with an automotive manufacturer.

"Aston Martin was at the top of my list, I've always been adamant that the AM-RB 001 should be a true road car that's also capable of extreme performance on track, and this means it really has to be a car of two characters.

"That's the secret we're trying to put into this car - the technology that allows it to be docile and comfortable, but with immense outright capabilities."

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo said he hoped to get involved in the development driving of the new car.

"Today is the first time I've seen it," he said.

"I've seen some brief sketches, but nothing close to what I've seen now.

"I'm pretty excited, I'd love to participate in some development if I could.

"I still can't believe it's going to be on the streets. It looks like a pretty amazing race car."

Team boss Christian Horner added: "The conception and modus operandi of Red Bull Technologies has been to apply our expertise to truly progressive projects and partnerships.

"Our relationship with Aston Martin and the realisation of the AM-RB 001 is pioneering and borne of our synergies and desire to break new ground.

"The AM-RB 001 is the inspirational product of this collaborative spirit."

He's tied with Vettel currently, and has had 4 podiums in 9 races. Results wise he's done just as much as Vettel (who granted has had some terrible luck with tires). But I think it's more indicative of Ferrari's opinion of the drivers market than it is of Kimi's value to the team (he brings a lot in the development aspect).

Ferrari simply doesn't have any faith that any other driver on the grid will be a marked improvement over Kimi right now, and whilst the likes of Bottas, Hulk, Checo clearly have the talent to bring more podium finishes to Ferrari, they might not add that innate ability to develop the car like Kimi can.
