I think it will have a Borderlands feel with the comedy/light-heartedness.... and the corporations owning everything. I look at it like a Fallout/Borderlands space baby. And I'm honestly ok with it not being an open world game, there's so many of those... sometimes it's nice to have a smaller map to wander around it, can fit a lot more personality and life into it that way (looking at you, Yakuza games)

The fact that it's a bit smaller in scale is something I see as a positive. I think there can be something special about a small game world that has a lot in it, and Yakuza is absolutely a valid example of that. When I think of memorable game locations, I think of Shadow Moses, Spencer Mansion and Rapture more than I think of those in games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. That's not to say that a big world can't be really nice at times, but I think they miss more than they land.

Microsoft's X019 show is tonight at 8.00pm GMT. It's expected to include new game announcements, with rumours about new Rare and Obsidian IPs swirling around. They'll be some Game Pass stuff too, I imagine.

I just hope it's not as horribly presented as Microsoft's normal "too cool for school" Inside Xbox shows. Something straight-laced will do fine.

I really like the look of Grounded, mostly because it has this Honey I Shrunk the Kids vibe. A bit wary of the survival mechanics though, not sure if it's going to turn into some sort of Fornite lite or Sea of Thieves without any core stuff to do.

Nine different Final Fantasy games will be on Game Pass next year. Kingdom Hearts games on Xbox too.

I thought there were some good announcements there, mainly geared around Game Pass. The presenters were mostly annoying, though.

Wow, no mention of three fucking Yakuza games coming to Game Pass in early 2020? For shame.

I was just thinking I need to buy Kiwami 2... but if it's coming to Game Pass, I think I can wait a few more months.

 

Rage 2 is available now, which is surprising. And Age of Wonder Planetfall. I feel like those are two pretty new games! Gamepass keeps being more and more worth it.

I wasn't aware of Tracks - The Train Set Game, but it's on Game Pass for PC and Xbox and it looks really charming. I'm hoping to give it a go later.

question- how would backwards compatibility work on the all digital xbox one? are you able to download 360 and original xbox games?

You should be able to. Backwards compatible games on disc have to be downloaded to the system anyway because it's how the emulation works.

Two Point Hospital is coming to Game Pass when it launches on consoles. It's not clear yet whether or not that means straight away, but it's coming.
