What Did You Watch Today?

Reindeer Games started out with an interesting premise, but the constant, nonsensical twists ruin the movie. The ending is horrendously unsatisfying, solidifying it as a mediocre action flick.I guess it could be worth a watch if only for the big name cast, which includes: Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron, Danny Trejo, Ashton Kutcher(briefly), and Gary Sinise. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Lt. Dan rob a casino?

The Purge was fairly disappointing. By horror movie standards, it's decent, but the interesting concept was wasted by regulating itself to home invasion. If you're into the stuff, pick it up for a buck on Redbox in a few months. If not, pass.

So..Back To The Future has been out for how many years? I'm 32 now...I just watched it tonight and, during the scene at the dance where Marty is playing Johnny B. Goode, and the singer/regular guitarist for the band is one hte phone and goes "Hey Chuck its Marvin...you know, your cousin, MARVIN BERRY"

I just got it...Chuck Berry...Johnny B Goode. Wow I'm slow...

Watched Skyfall last night (way behind on films). Absolutely brilliant movie. The villain was creepy as fuck.

If you think you're behind... you've got another thing coming when you see my track record, I'm still at From Russia With Love...

Finally got around to watching Cabin in the Woods now that it's on Netflix. Holy shit, so good.

Am I the only one that HATED this movie? I know it was kind of tongue in cheek throughout, but it just seemed like a pretty pointless and dumb affair. The Robot chicken spoof of it was much more enjoyable to sit through. I legitimately asked myself "why the fuck am I watching this?" as it was on. I guess I''m just missing something as to why people liked it I guess.

I think you are? The only people I know who didn't like it are people who went in expecting a horror movie and couldn't quite comprehend what they got instead. Everyone else basically loves it. Which I agree with, it was so much fun.

I really can't grasp what people thought was wrong with Cabin in the Woods. My girlfriend hated it too and she couldn't give me an explanation that I could understand at all. I guess some people just aren't into goofy fun? For me, it was great in a very similar way to Drag Me To Hell. It wasn't remotely scary, but it wasn't trying to be. It isn't a traditional horror film, it's more of a popcorn horror? I don't really like that as a name for the genre, but it is to horror, what a film like the new GI Joe or Fast Five is to Action. It's just a lot of fun. You could probably put the original Evil Dead films in that class as well.

I really enjoyed it, especially the bits with Bradley Whitford in because Bradley Whitford was in them, but I did think there was quite a lot of horror in that, by design, wasn't all that scary. I think I liked the film more upon reflection than I did when I was actually watching it.
