It happened a hell of a lot more than I thought it did this season. It's going to be harder and much more time consuming during a game to start video reffing penalty calls and the like.

As a Norwich fan I am gutted for Ruddy he has been very impressive and deserved the call up.

Yeah I'm gutted about that news for Ruddy, real shame and I hope he gets into future squads.

It is a joke that our third best available goalkeeper is a youngster who has never played more than a few games in League 2. That's nothing against Butland, I'm sure one day he'll be a fantastic keeper. But we need to be generating many more English keepers than this.

I'm sure Carson or Robinson could've been tempted, but is it really worth it for the third choice? Otherwise you've got the likes of Smithies, and Fraser Forsters done alright in Scotland.

Forster's a good shout. The tournament squad experience can't be anything but bad for Butland though.

I just think we need more British goalies coming through. At one stage this season our god-awful second choice keeper Gary Woods was in contention for an U21 place, and he's dire.

I thought Forster would of been a shout over Butland surely he has much more first team experience?
