UFC News and Discussion Thread

I love how even Tito needed a minute to figure out who it was.

Who was it anyway? :shifty:

That was my exact thought. I waited for the big reveal.....and then nothing....then I waited for them to say his name or tell us why this was such a big deal....and still nothing.

Brandao weighed in at 142 for tomorrow, Jesus.

Saw a link earlier where John Lineker said he'll be fine despite previous weight cutting issues.

Just weighed in at 130.

EDIT: Holy shit Ed Herman in the UFC is still a thing.. it's been 9 years since he was in TUF.

Kelvin Gastelum collapsed and was taken to hospital before weigh-ins. He would have been closer to weight if they hadn't have pumped him full of fluids I'd imagine. The others don't have any excuses though. I don't really get how you can collapse and still be fine to fight the next day though.

I'm really worried for Gastellum, he looked like shit at the weigh-ins. I think he just needs to make the move up to 185, it's a shame because his size is perfect for 170, but he's only hit that mark once, I think. It's really unprofessional for him to continue at 170 if he's going to keep on missing weight.

Lineker being 5 pounds over is just crazy, though, after the promises he made that he'd make weight. Bet the UFC are praying that McCall beat him tomorrow so they don't have to think of putting Lineker in a title fight.

Also apparently Stephen Thompson is injured, so that main event in Broomfield against Brandon Thatch is off.

Both injury woes bum me out. I wanted to see Thatch fight and I wanted to see Vitor get his ass kicked. Apparently Weidman is returning in April / May, so hopefully it gets rescheduled soon.

It's Lineker's fourth time, he needs to jump up to 135.

Moving up to a class you'll make weight normal can do miracles for a person, see: Johnson, Anthony.

I said CAN do. :shifty:

Besides, these guys didn't have to move up a weight division, I mentioned Rumble because he missed weight how many times at 170 and 185?

Also, Penn: 2-0 at Middleweight; 3-3 at Welterweight including submitting and KO'ing Matt Hughes.. It could be worse. :P

Watching the vlog, at the earlier weigh ins, Gastelum came in at 179, he obviously gave up already at that point if he came in heavier during the actual weigh ins.

-- Fernando Arbex at Bloody Elbow translated an interview at Tatame with Gilbert Burns, Vitor Belfort's jiu jitsu coach, where he confirmed that Belfort has turned down an interim title fight with Lyoto Machida at UFC 184. He said that just a month out, the style change from Chris Weidman to Machida, a southpaw karate specialist, would be too great, but Vitor would be willing to fight Jacare, Yoel Romero, Luke Rockhold, or Mark Munoz (currently the NUMBER 14 CONTENDER.

I would have loved to have seen Yoel Romero throw Belfort all over the place :(.
