Heading out for Aalborg Metal Festival in about an hour. It is going to be awesome, I have gone to a metal gig in a year or something. Iniquity, Marduk, Fear Factory, Gojira, Melechesh, Rotten Sound and of course, Devin Townsend is what I am hoping to see.

Going to see The Bronx twice next week, one of the gigs is in a 150 capacity venue. Its going to be wild.

Cloud Nothings were great, but the crowd was full of dickheads. People off their face moshing to every song with no care for the people around them. There was no real middle ground. Great gig, though.

Really wanted to see Black Keys, Crystal Castles and Deftones but work has got in the way. Wanted to see Devin Townsend the same night as The Hives, same city too, but my friend dropped out and my other friend wanted to see The Hives instead.

He was great, at one point he stage dived and then stood on the hands of the people and performed there.

I impulse brought a Deftones ticket for London. So glad I did, the new album is killer.

Edit: and Keith, Polar Collective remind me of a mix of Jack Penate (before he got shit) and Jamie T, should be a nice addition at the Pip gig.

Cannibal Corpse, Hour of Penance and Misery Index. All three were pretty good and even the local that opened wasn't half bad (the last time I saw them they suuuucked), but the standout for me was Hour of Penance. They had really good energy and weren't at all the typical "Stand around and play your instruments and look GRIMMMM" that I come to expect when I see death metal bands live. It was nice.

Hoping to get tickets to see Imagine Dragons in Bristol in April. They've got a few gigs across the UK coming up (London, Glasgow, B'ham, Manchester iirc) and tickets are apparently quite cheap.

Went to see the Vaccines last night who were a lot better than I thought they'd be. Few duff songs but there's a few that are miles better live than on the albums. Very nice.

I got tickets to see Sunn O))) this February. I cannot fucking wait. I don't think I've been hyped for a gig since Sleep back in May.
